This car was done three weeks ago & compared to the GT-R35 it was a walk in the park,it had scratches, but nowhere near as bad as the GT-R35 :bunny:

One day was spent correcting the paint and this time it wasn't a black car  :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014:

Hi Mario,

Great job! Hands sore?

Do you use clay bar at all?

Perhaps the better Q is what process did you follow?

Cheers Mate, T

:/ Terry !

Hands were sore as a matter of fact ! I did use a clay bar because paint didn't feel that smooth, i used the new Flex XC 3401 VRG DA with Lake Country Orange 6.5" Buffing Pads . The machine was used at full speed at all times ! Finished off with Wurth Paint Sealant .

Regards Mario

Hi Mario,

On all your posts/threads, you are very constructive and helpful. You are to be complimented on this !!

And I'm real glad that you supplied a pic of your van - because then I realised what you did for a living!

Stupid me when I first came across one of your posts for the first time... I thought that you might be a Dr from Poland> Er Um Lol

Beautiful, Well Done Mario.

I see that this car is currently up for sale so, whats your personal opinion of the car?

Would like to hear your feedback.

PM me.

Cheers.

I have sent you a PM !

Regards Mario

Hi Mario

Looks fantastic - how much roughly for a job like this?

Also are you only based out of Vic or do you have employees in NSW, etc?

:D

I am based in Melbourne (SE Suburbs ) but i do travel even interstate !

I will be in NSW ( Sydney ) on August 31st ! I have a meeting and a job booked for that month ,going into September ! :D

Without seeing your car i can only give you an estimate from $ 400 upwards ! That's just for the paint ( Paint Correction for the removal of scratches and swirl marks and other paint defects ! These jobs normally take a whole day but there are times when they can take two days !

What colour is your car ? Is it a metallic colour or solid colour ?

So i will be in Sydney end of August ! PM if you are interested ! Or call me on my mobile 0419 881 439

Regards Mario :(

  • 1 month later...
  • 2 months later...
Woh, $400 to buff a car...wish we got that much...

One whole day to do this job ! Sometimes two ! If i do ever come to NSW i will need a 50% deposit before i even move from Melbourne !

Regards Mario :)

was it just a one stage correction (after the prep)? ie, 1 polish product with the orange pad?

you seem to like the Wurth sealant, can't say i'm familiar with the product. Is it a glaze?

any chance of full sun shots?

Im interested

how abrasive do you go with the polish? guess it would depend on depth of the swirls/scratches etc; do u use an ultrasonic depth gauge to check thickness of the clear coat

post polish do you finish with a glaze before paint protection and what type of protection do you use; polymer or organic waxes?

My cars black and ive spent alot of time detailing but im not confident enough to use an abrasive polish and orbital polisher.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
