to change gear oil:

get it up in the air,

whip out the two plugs that a half inch fits into,

let oil drain out,

replace bottom plug,

fill with oil until it starts coming out of top plug hole

replace plug

easy!

it will only shift into 5th after car(or maybe gearbox) warm up,like start the car warm up2-3 mins, diver to a freeway,i can clearly see,the rev stay under 3000rpm@100km/h. but after travel 10km stationary speed, can feel it sfit 5th,and rev drop back to 2600@rpm@100km/h . is that still normal?

I'm not 100% sure but that doesn't sound right. I thought it was 4-speed autos only for the R33.

dont konw it is 4sp or 5sp,but i definitely can feel that final shift,or can see from the rpm instrument(4th 2800@100km/h 5th 2600@100km/h <or called factory extra>).

i think the way to find out how many speed of the gearbox is count the how many times it shift.which is means 4 shifts u got 5 gears or what ever the factory extra,am i right?

Well yes and no.

I'm pretty sure it's only a 4 speed auto box in the R33. It may possibly have some sort of overdrive or something, in which case that could be mistaken for some sort of 5th gear.

Searched the net, it always comes up with: "The RB25 turbo comes with either a 4-speed auto or a 5-speed manual".

So if it is some sort of overdrive, then I'd expect to only come on at high speeds (~100km/h) and only once the car was warmed. I wouldn't think any more of it, either way you don't have a 5th gear so there is nothing wrong with your gearbox. Plus, anything under ~3000rpm at ~100km/h is fine. My manual R33 sits at ~2700rpm in 5th on the freeway.

but it will come up when car warm at low speed,1600rpm@60km/h,if not it will reach low2000rpm@60km/h

    • Welcome. Dont let anyone dissuade you from your dreams. If you want a gtr, keep sabing and you will eventually get one. I feel like if I had have bought stocks, those companies would have gone bust and I would have lost my money.  There's a gamble in everything we buy. I've had good times and bad. But... I've also met my absolute best friend through this network and can't imagine life without them(more like a brother). Keep in mind, some specific mods will change as technology gets better. If you feel like general chat, there's always the wasteland.....
    • Those are some very cutesy barriers! Is that common?
    • Saw this abandoned Honda Fit in a carpark that was getting repaved... they just 'cut around it' and continued with the job! There's a number of reasons why the car could have been abandoned, but as for the construction company, legally they don't have permission to move the car from the owner (who has moved on and can't be contacted) so all they can do it just leave it there with enough space around it so it won't get damaged.
    • You’ll want to have the block drilled and tapped to suit 1/2in head studs and the head for the same. How much power do you intend to make?
    • Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread Not much has happened in the past year since the last update. The car did another 1000 miles or so and failed the MOT for the first time in October (failed on tyres which had been advised for a couple of years) In October the car got put up for sale and was removed in November due to no interest, being so close to christmas it was to be expected. The roads were dry in February so I decided to tax it early and get the new tyres fitted.   Fast forward to April, I got someone in to give the car a good clean after sitting for the winter.                                 The car got re-advertised and today (Saturday 3rd May) the car sold. The new owner is planning a GTR conversion at some point and a respray in the same pearl white. It's bitter sweet, it's a shame to have the car sit there for half the year and then only do 1000 miles. The kids are growing too quick and space in the back is getting limited. It's been a great 6.5 years of ownership
