Oh - looks like both HLCA cars are out for TT09. Shame really as I'd have liked to have seen how much the new fuel regs effected Glenney in the EVO, as they (EVO's) more than anyone seemed to struggle at TWP in Jan with the change.

But that sure leaves the modern comp wide open now.

Yes interesting times ahead with regard to what the fuel change will do.

Some scrutineering checking some engine capacities wouldn't go astray though....... look, this Evo even comes with a legal spec 2.0L engine as a spare! lol

Yeh but they weren't quick anyway... no one looks if your not winning!

that ad is gold. generally those discussion should be held off the internet.

It does remind me of a white road car of the same spec that used to follow a high profile race car. On the last night it had an engine swap with the race car. Wierd.

lol Dunc, something tells me I know the vehicle you're talking about....... shame the hottie engine was sold to someone else and was in someone else's race car last time I drove the car in question. LOL

Edit: just to clarify, this talk of a hottie engine is pure speculation Duncan, because personally, I think you have it wrong. I can only go by what people whom were actually there have told me while sober.

For anyone that's interested the edited and approved Sup regs and Intention to enter forms for the 3rd annual Mt Stuart Rally Sprint in Townsville on the Queens birthday long weekend are up on our web site. Townsville City Autosports Club.

Probably the biggest change is lience requirement has been changed from National rally to Clubman rally.

Hope to see some of you there.

yeah that the engine was checked... weeks later in another city!!

capacity checks will take place this year... there's technology coming out the a hole this year with the tyre data-dotting, fuel testing and volumetric measurement stuff!

no glenny you say, maybe you boys should just have some patience...

brap brap

dane - rx7 has been pushed to the side for a little bit, but should be running within four weeks though... busy getting the evo ready for tt as a guy wants to borrow and run it!

snowy - commos are so twp, its all about shiney new things for tt!

sav_man - there is some special tool that measures air volume, not sure how it works, but far from the crude screwdriver with a pen mark method seen at some events.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
