So im gonna change my gearbox oil, ive read all the previous threads about what oil and how to do it...but not much is mentioned about flushing the gearbox out.

i know ive crunched a few gears here and there so its pretty safe to say im gonna find a fair few shards of teeth once i drain the oil. so....

should i flush out my gearbox? if so, should i just use water/detergent/oil/spit/anything that cleans out gearboxes for people that crunch gear changes when driving ????

Just drain and re-fill, no need to use water or detergents, etc (infact DO NOT use water or detergent).

I have read in a thread that you can fill the box with kero, then start the car and without the clutch you push the gearstick into each gear as if you were changing gears but not so hard. Apparently that allows the synchro's to open up and cleans them, then drain it out and fill with oil.... Thinking of this as it sounds about right but not 100% sure... also cant get the drain plug out!! :D

thanks guys! i ended up just cleaning the mag plug. theres was so much crap on it i was a little shocked. oil was nasty too, but the change in new oil made the gearbox feel awesome, its almost as if i've done a complete overhaul. lucky!

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
