CRD Dyno day - DATE CHANGED - Now Oct 12th 2003

Recommended Posts

Guys there will be no "running order" as such, however it WILL be first in best dressed. Cars will be lined up in groups of 5 or so.

Those who are on the waiting list as shown in the first post need to come along on the day and see if a spot opens up.

Hello all,

Never been to a dyno day (or CRD for that matter), so I'm hoping someone can help me out with a few questions:

1. CRD Dyno - Will this dyno cause problems with cars that have low-ish front bars? My car has one such offending item and I'm not sure if it will get onto the dyno - that said, my car has been on a dyno before, so if they are all standard in this regard, it should be ok i guess. If somebody tells moe otherwise, I will take it off before I go.

2. How long will the day last for - the start time is 8-9am, and there are 35 cars running. Do we only get one run each, and if so, then what time approx would we get through all 35 cars?

And a final one to satisfy my curiosity - any press attending? (ie should I wash my car :D)

Thanks for your time, and see you all there!

Chris

1: Shouldnt be a problem

2: the runs are power runs with the option for people to ask a few questions assuming we get through the cars at a reasonable pace. 35 Cars are running, perhaps a few more if things go well. The day as mentioned is first come first served. Cars will be lined up in order of arrival so get there early to ensure you arent at the back of the queue.

3: im sure plenty of people will be taking photos and the like so yes wash your car

course they will provide teh graphs dude..

On another note?

I had 2 spots? and only 1 seems to be listed????

I used to have a second spot up there?

I have a special GTiR coming along in the second spot.... :D

If I cant have my spot back - please add it to the reserves as he is defo coming.

Oh and I wouldnt think Mongie is coming now???

he wrote off his R33 GTR???

Thanks

Michael

    • Yes. Get rid of that battery. It is dead. It will cause problems.
    • Don't assume too much when there is a voltage issue....if the battery is flat and the alternator not charging it is easy for the voltage to drop way low at the ECU due to the draw of stuff like coils, fuel pump etc Whatever you see at the battery with the motor off, it should be at least 13.8 with it running
    • I have been wondering if this is as simple as a voltage issue with the battery. Even on a charger, I can’t seem to get it over 11.8V on the terminals.    Unless the alternator has failed as well, that wouldn’t cause it to die in the middle of driving though.
    • I’ll give this a shot next time I’m able to wrench on it.    I was able to get my hands on a Haltech Nexus, so that should help with some of the more bizarre troubleshooting. Make sure the CAS is actually sending signal and will be able to set the proper dwell on the R35 coils.    I’ve checked power/grounds/signals at the CAS, ignitor, and plugs and it was all there. Granted this was static with ignition on, not cranking.    I also plan on swapping out the fuel filter and throwing on a fuel pressure gauge at the rail just to confirm I’m getting the correct pressure at the rail. 43psi if I recall correctly.
    • The attached document is fine. I just downloaded & opened it.
