Marty - thanks for clarifying the Camp 2 situation...

First time I've heard of Tunehouse, they must be doing something right to get Pro Dealer status. However, being a HKS Pro Dealer and a HKS Power Writer are two seperate things. Are you saying that this Jim can tune the products as well?

If so, I guess it's good news as it opens up the market a bit more... would like to hear confirmation of that.

Correct. When we are setting up HKS Pro Dealers in Australia they will be Power Writer shops. So only Tunehouse and XSpeed can tune F-CON V Pro (there is a new version coming out soon as well) at the moment. Unfortunately BD4 didn't renew their contract and can no longer tune the HKS product so now Tunehouse is the only shop in Sydney until we sign/contract some others.

HKS will be visiting in Oct for more training on the new version of F-Con V Pro so its definatly worth the call. Jim's (Tunehouse) Chassis Dyno room is probably the most impressive I have seen in Aust.

Let me know if I can help with anything else. My email is [email protected]

Cheers

Marty

Marty, thanks again for the information.

2 things -

1) What is the new version coming out, I confirmed yesterday that 3.24 is still the latest available. What is the new number and more importantly what are the updates over 3.24? When will it be available for updating via authorized Power Writers?

2) To my understanding, the contract / license to tune F-CONs does not go by the shop, but the individual. So even though BD4s (which is no longer around) did not renew their contract to sell as a Pro Dealer, I am led to believe that the tuner (Tom) is still able to tune the units,

Do correct me if I'm wrong.

What i wa led to beleive about new versions was just for new cars really, because i have a 32 gtr any version over 3.1 is not really required.

tho obviously to run navigator i needed to update to 3.2. i would say camp would require me to update also.

it would be great *HINT HINT* for hks to release some data loging software for the fcon via a laptop :P

Thanks for the info Martin! :P

I really like the fcon, but tuning has always been its biggest problem!

with a large shop like Tunehouse on board it looks like i am safe :P

Yep. They look the goods.

Marty, thanks again for the information.

1) Sorry but I cannot disclose new information publically yet about the new version. We are under contract as the Aust Distributor and there are things I can't do legally such as give away this kind of info. When I can I'll post them up for you.

2) Tom did not renew his contract with us (HKS) so returned his tuning dongle key. He can no longer tune F-CON computers. He is still selling some old product that was in stock but will not be supplied anything new from HKS.

Cheers

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
