Ok.. funny someone started this tread, as it so happen i got my licence suspension for 2mths for careless driving. I didn't speed around the conner all i did was accelerated too soon after the conner, crashed into 2 parked cars and there's was another car coming towards me who rammed the rear of my car.

This happened in Feb.. Went to court last week, got a $250 fine, 12 months good behavior bond and 2 month suspension. I fee naked

Both Reckless and Careless are summons offences for court. There is now a penalty notice for careless driving but I believe only can be issued to offending driver in circumstances of minor accident with no injuries.

Since when? Careless used to be a fine a couple years ago, no summons no demerit point loss.

As long as I've been in vicpol (7 YRS) Careless has always been a court appearance/summons offence. That's why we issue so many fail to have full control of vehicle or fail to drive sufficent distance behind a vehilce fines as they are penalty notices/on spot fines. Saves us a lot of time/paperwork.

And as you see in other thread about assault offenders avoiding jail the courts are stuffed and that's why we issue fines over summons when ever possible because it's just a waste of our time taking most people to court.

My apologies then, I'm confusing careless driving with failure to have full control of vehicle. I'll edit my above post.

EDIT: I can't edit my previous post for some reason, unless an admin wants to do it for me

UPDATE: sitting at home quietly knock on the door.....they finally issued me the summons....charge is for careless driving....which ill probably plead guilty as it was my fault no one was hurt which is lucky but wasnt intentional so yeah. im going to seek legal aid and get advice though. :P

just quick question jeans and t-shirt or shirt n nice pants

mate, no one here will agree with me coz they are all so perfect lawfully abiding citizens...

however, if i were you i'd be pleading not guitly.... and claiming there was oil on the road! especially in an intersection where cars sit for quite some while waiting to turn... oil residue there is quite likely! in which case it really doesnt matter how fast you were or wernt going! it was going to happen.... it may not be the truth... but it may save your licence and job!

unless you admitted to the cops that you were travelling to fast?

in which case... bad luck!

well oil does come up on the road after its rained from residu left or something ive heard....and i wasnt speeding..but yeah it was just careless as i didnt adjustmy driving condition to the road conditions which happened to be wet and slippery from amounts of rain or oil that comes up.

yeah oil's a bitch , your fomr SE i see , noble park , douglas and heatherton rd round about , any fast then 10-15 in wet your gone, lower dandy road and boundary road round about, no chance in that , when i had my holden i ended up on that round about, even at 25kph i had no control what so ever.

but good luck withe court case, i would of been packing cause of there anti-hoon laws and how there hitting SE, lucky you still got your car :(

hey dude i was summone to court for careless driving about 2 years ago, careless is alot worse than reckless driving. The law states that Careless driving can be 1month imprisionment and up to a $30,000 fine, i doubt you will get either of these well im pretty certain.

It all depends on the judge on the day and your driving record. I wore suit paints and a nice shirt mum came with me and also got a lawyer through my sisters work. I ended up getting with just a $1500 fine and a 2 year bond a road trauma cause and defence driving corse but i was being alot more stupid but it still came under the Careless driving law.

I would just admit to saying you where in a bit of a hurry and didnt relise it was that slippery.

Anyways good luck mate let us know how you go.

Cheers

Chris

lol lying in court...

Its bad enough cops tell lies in court, stooping to their level would be a new low

lol yeah well..." if you can't beat em'... join em' " ... isnt that the old saying? lol

plus they have to prove your guilt beyond all reasonable doubt...

i find the chance of oil on the round a good chance, which is also an external factor

yes you can adjust driving style for wet conditions... however its almost imposible to adjust for say "black ice" or "oil slick"

the dude on the front page of todays paper blamed a cat, so why can;t you blame oil? lol

"fu*k teh po'leece"

    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
