Err not that it's really going to help much.... but anything stand out obvious wrong from these couple of photos lol. The oil feed banjo isn't sealing 100%.. i need to fix that but I don't think that would be doing it..

Hey yeah there is a gasket... It doesn't go to 0 straight away.. if i drive it it slowly climbs to a tiny bit below 0 and then doesn't go up any higher even if foot is flat.. grrrrr

that sounds like a problem, as putting ure foot down to the floor regardless where in a non turbo motor should give 0 vaccume, and on a turbo motor should give 0 vaccume then boost, i just added you on msn so i can ask you about it there instead of in a million posts

Hey yeah i can the wastegate flips open and closed without the arm attached to it just as easily as the old one.

I just went for another drive.... a big one this time... at 47% throttle (i went more than this) it's 58% airflow @ 4600rpm. It's like nothing nothing nothing then if i give it more the boost goes up to like 5psi and then when i back off the bov goes off like normal but the turbo makes a really faint spool like it does when you blow a cooler pipe so perhaps it is just leaking somewhere afterall.. Is a highflow going to make it THAT much laggier?:s Perhaps it's been bored out too much?? Doubtful as it still utilizes the same front and rear housings. I'm just waiting for someone to say that it will be different to drive with a highflow than standard but it's not that..

Which leads me to my next question... if the turbo is capable of producing even small amount of boost does that rule out that the turbo is the problem?? Or not necessarily...

if the gate was stuck open it would go into vacuum instantly no problems and build some boost

it would just be mega laggy to build a useful amount of boost

but getting to 0 should be almost instant with gate leaking or not

it sounds like your manifold isnt pressurize, ie; your engine is atmo

this explains why you cant reach 0 vacuum

Yeah maybe you just forgot to tighten a hose clamp and its half blown off.

If its a bush bearing highflow it will be laggier again over a turbo thats BB of the same specs or a standard turbo. It won't deliver the boost as nice as a BB.

Yeah i'm gonna pull the dump pipe back off... make sure the wastegate flap is 110% closing correctly and make sure the arm is pulling it shut... when that's off also make sure the wheels are still spinning together and are tight... after that I think there's nothing more i can really do and will gladly pay a shop to fix whatever it is.

im having a brain fart but it seems like I have had this problem before. Maybe some how that turbo is out of spec?? The boost is suppose to be built up in the compressor housing and then distributed throught out the intercooler piping. Almost sounds like it may be sucking but not pushing if ya know what I mean. check the gasket on the comp housing. I think that fixed my problem before. It suxed trying to find one. or take the turbo off and get it checked by a pro. Or if ya have a freind with anouther turbo borrow it.

Just had another look at pics.

1) Move your pressure source AWAY from your FPR.

You should NEVER tee things off the FPR signal line. You can cause pressure drops when putting things on that flow air etc.

2) Your hose clamps on the hot side of the intercooler to turbo seem to not be sitting right. Undo them, line them back up, redo them.

    • I'm thinking that this is such a small part of the problem that you could easily forego the vac pump and just achieve 90% of what you need, which is keeping the gate open when off boost. It's not as if there are not already techniques to keep a gate fully closed under boost. After all, you have boost. Just use a wastegate actuator that will allow you to apply the boost on the appropriate side, just like every external gate out there.
    • Heres another fitment photo. redrilled the pattern to 5x112, and threw my audi´s rims on. had to touch the upper control arms with grinder, because the "sharp corner" was sticking about 2-3mm on the tire path. i have the "fender lip" mostly cut off, otherwise these (too) would contact with it. 20x9.5 ET25 rear    265/30 20x8.5 ET20 front    255/30 they are temporary, and look too big for the chassis. searching for 19s to it.

    • Background: my BMW 225i hatchback (rebodied MINI/X1) came with 3x RE003 and 1x Goodyear Asymmetric something. The RE003 roared and slid around, the Goodyear side was quiet and grippy. Definitely my car was thrashed before it got sent to dealers. My brother also got RE003 all round on his old VA WRX STI, I wasn't impressed with them, car was loud so can't comment on noise. Anyway, Hankook stopped making/updating V12 Evo2. So bought S1 Evo3 runflats. Great daily duties tyre and not that harsh ride. Tyre reviews site/youtube rated them as best stopping in the rain and I believe them. Next set, Goodyear Asymmetric 5 non-RFT. It beat PS4 in tests and is like $100 cheaper, so put them on. Great tyre, more grip then S1 Evo3 but a tad noisier as expected, still rocking them. Next set I am looking to go runflats, probably the new Hankook Evo. Although the new Pirelli PZ5 did well in tyrereviews test. Or go Goodyear Asymmetric 6 which was top tyre last year. The V12 Evo2 on my gen5 Liberty GT wagon did great in cold condition (drove to snowy mountains for a day so my husky can feel his ancestor's roots). Super impressive performance for $120 each lol. Never skimp on tyres, brakes, suspension. There's old pics of my R31's crappy random brake pads bending in the caliper at Oran Park track day somewhere around here. Anyway, my 2 cents.
