Evening,

Just searching around and found a page containing some text naming a turbo called Garrett 35/82 SPL.

Now i've done a quick search and have found nothing as yet.. (hopeless web surfer i am)..

So just curious if anyone can shed some light for me, answering here or perhaps giving me a link..

Cheers,

Gordon.

link to said page plz

Be sure to search

A GT3582 is the proper Aussi term (diameter of the compressor exducer) for a GT3540 (US measure the comp wheel inducer)

Garret dont market a SPL AFAIK, what you could be looking at is a GT3582 with a T04R (66mm ind) front wheel placed into the machined front cover.

From memory they are worth another 40hp worth of top end flow. Searching will tell you some ppl don't advise it, at the exhaust housing borderline with the stock comp wheel as is.

I have one with another click worth of work that I believe should offset that issue.

Course, i could be way off :P

sounds like a GCG thing to me..

i had a bloke try telling me about a T04z SPL and SPL2 a little while back.. and i told him there is no such thing.. did some researching and it turned out that GCG nicknamed a standard t04z with split pulse ex housing and ported comp cover the spl and the spl2 was the exact same except had a ported 0.8comp cover

so i'd say it'd be something similar to that.

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • Definitely a hearty eater when we go out, I consider these meals my cheat day as I've been watching my calories in and calories out pretty hard since my little fun size stroke, I've gone from a fat boy of 89 Kg, I'm only 165cm tall/short, down to a almost semi lean 73 Kg over the last few years, I'm currently around 17% body fat which my doctor is very happy with, but, my goal is to slowly get down to and maintain 15%,so yeah, I want all of the protein, carbs, fats and sugars when I go out for a binge
    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
