Hey guys. I might be installing a Mazda turbo off a series 4 rx7 13B onto a R33 skyline. Has any done this before and what sort of power gains would i be looking at with a front mount, custom manifold, 3inch turbo back exhaust and dual stage boost controller. Any info would be much appreciated.

Turbogtst (fellow forum user) had an RX7 turbo on his GTS-t, which I think was good for around 250rwkw. I think his was a series 5 turbo though. As far as I know he still has it for sale, pm him if anyone's interested. I was going to buy it myself when I thought my turbo was b0rked, but I only had a faulty wastegate which I got fixed.

From what I could see on it, you will probably have to slightly re-route the oil and water lines, but other than that it seems to be a pretty easy fitment.

the s5 turbo is much better than the s4 and not any laggier due to better design.

The wastegate is bigger (i think it has twin outlets) so it doesn't creep. It has a proper split pulse exhaust housing design (like a t04) where as the s4 turbo is designed with an uneven split as it was designed to have a flap cover the smaller port at low revs to spool up the turbo faster.

But that said, it's designed for a rotary which flows a shit load of air for the power produced so it'll be laggy compared to a highflow or matched turbo.

The best Rx7 turbo upgrade is to Use the Rx7 Core and turbine wheel .. machine out a single turbo VG30 Nissan exhaust Housing to Fit the RX7 core and turbine wheel .. Hi flow the front compressor wheel of the RX7 turbo with a TO4 e trim wheel .. .. I just finnished making one up .. every thing fits together really well .. and the turbo bolts back in the std place on the exhaust manifold ...

sounds really good. I will let my friend know. Thanks for the advise.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
