Sorry to hear about the accident.

That is one pristine car you drive and its a crime to see id damaged.

I hope the insurance works well for you. You shouldn't need to use second hand parts, mine were all replaced with new factory items, including the front guard lining (have you checked with Nissan)

If you get a choice of repairer can I suggest Des Higgins (coach builder) at Parafield. Despite the praise others lay on their crash favourite crash shops his reputation is the best, and his work if faultless. (Makes Doyle's etc look like they use brooms to apply the paint - he is just that good)

Cheers Guy, I have my own issues with Doyle and I beleive he does use brooms to paint but that's another story... I am using a crash repairer that we have been going to for the last 20 or so years and their work is also second to none. DRIV3R, when one headlight is $1500 new, and you have to paint the whole side of a car, replace front bar, paint that, etc, it adds up pretty quickly

haha nice try Steve. yeah to broken car game is expensive, i have a couple of fibreglass cracks from people who dont look when they reverse and its gonna be $400 for a cash job, so gonna be even more if he has to do it all through the books.

still not as bad luck as a bin infront of you when you just exit a blind corner

Not on its own but when you add in this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fi...01#entry3697101

"After the big end bearing let go on my 1989 R32 GTR on May 12 2007 on the SAU 'haunted' cruise I can finally collect my car tomorrow.

This has been a long and drawn out saga that has cost ridiculous amounts of money. The short version for those who don't know:

* Did my first ever 7000rpm launch in the car and spun the big end bearing on a Friday night SAU cruise back in May last year.

* Within a week the car is at Willall Racing in the capable hands of Peter Hall.

* Peter and I discuss the rebuild, decide which mods I'll get and he gives me a quote.

* The work begins and the engine is stripped while I source parts from Japan.

* Unexpectedly and with no explanation given (to me) Peter Hall leaves Willall and I'm left with an engine in pieces.

* I approach Steve Cramp from Manta Racing to complete the rebuild but don't obtain a quote.

* Steve struggles to find all the pieces of the engine and 4 trips are made to Willall to look for stuff sometimes spending hours looking for bits and pieces.

* The $ have more than doubled my original quote.

* Finally by October the car is back at Willall for Martin Donnan to tune after I have completed 500+km breaking in the new engine.

* The brand new PFC fails and on Martin's and Steve's advice I send it back to Nengun for repair under warranty.

* 3 months later Nengun inform me that there was nothing wrong with the PFC and I have to pay to get it sent back. Add other $235 and another month to the total.

* Finally I get the PFC back 2 weeks ago and leave the car and the remaining mods with Steve last week while I go to Fiji for a mate's wedding.

* I get back today and read an email that Manta wants another $1230 but the car is ready to be collected although now the HKS EVC boost controller no longer holds constant boost so they have re-plumbed the system and have it running at 17psi. I have never had any problems with the HKS EVC before."

+ the coilovers seized on a SAU cruise the day I had my new brakes fitted. Months off the road.

+ the one of the turbos blew after I picked up my car from a mate who borrowed it after he drove me to hospital due to a head clash playing indoor soccer. Months off the road (and a new scar on my head)

+ the aforementioned blown engine occurred a mere 10 days after the new turbos were fitted... and it was my FIRST EVER proper GTR launch. Nearly a year off the road.

+ the car cost over $6,000 more than I was quote by Prestigemotorsport when I originally bought it back in 2004.

Damn man that sucks... I didn't think it was that bad from the description you gave me ;\

Whens it getting repaired?

-D

F**k knows. I'm waiting on a call from the crash repairer as we speak. Nothing has been done yet - this crash occurred back on June 20.

Edited by writeoff

Just spoke with the crash repairer and the insurance company have approved the repairs albeit with second hand parts but I should expect to get the car back for another 3 months. They've already had it for 2 months.

    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
    • On the bright side, the weather will turn much nicer for working outside shortly....sounds like you might need to start on a neighbour's garden next
