yeh would be nice to get a few snaps of the grip praccy, only ended up getting into the last 3 sessions of the grip praccy but couldnt have been happier with how the car went, now ive just gotta learn to steer the thing better :D

haha yeh that was me, i was there for grip and drift, unfortunately only got into the last 3 sessions due to the cap they reached there. i was in the cams license section, and my old man was driving it in the temp license section.

pretty happy with the pace considering my lack of track time, lack of grip (old heatcycled RE070's with f**k all tread) and lack of power (150-160rwkw, low boost due to controller problems). also small other things like locked diff because i overshimmed it (0.8mm + 1.4mm) and didnt have time to take it back out and pull the .8mm shim out once i realised how tight it was. also alignment was out etc etc

ended up getting more and more confident in the brakes and started dropping the times, but by mid way through session 3 i boiled my brake fluid and lost brakes completely. i was lucky i started my cool down lap the corner after i boiled the brakes, not sure what the chances of that happening were but it saved me from going into the sandtrap pretty hard. best lap i got just before i boiled the fluid was around 1:27.9, obviously tonnes of room for improvement in both setup and driver.

some in car footage

unfortunately its all in car, should have got it out in the early sessions when i wasnt driving, i was just too busy running around finding people that were loading trailers and leaving so i could get out there. then by the time i found out i was in, it was a mad rush getting tyres on etc that couldnt get footage of the 1st session, got some of the 2nd session but was pretty messy and slow, had to come in half way as well and refuel so lost a lot of time in that session, then 3rd session i boiled my brake fluid half way through and it was game over for the grip session, only just got it bled and refilled in time for the 2nd session of drift thanks to a few champion blokes who we were sharing sheds with.

what GTR were u talking about, i think there was one out in the later sessions, think ive got footage of it just destroying me down the back straight (turn 4) haha, rb20 just wasnt up to the challenge.

Nice footage Stewy. Lol @ you listening to the footy whilst driving!

haha yeh.

the drift practice footage:

not great, but if anyone takes anything out of this footage, it's that to stay the hell away from the temp permit group :ninja:

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
