Definatly harder than i thought

The only other HGC110 beside mine where I live , is owned by a old lady who doesn't want to sell it,

other than that, I have not seen on for many years.

and 2 door one, I haven't seen for 10-15 years

just 10 years ago you couldent give away a c210/11 now you cant find one for any money!

there were a few hundred thousand sold in aus where did they go????

i have been offered a C210, its worth alot more than i have settled the price on...

4 door, worked L24, resprayed, 5 speed, black near mint interior....

Just gotta arrange the transport from its current owners

just thinking on buying it now, then reselling in a few months/years time (after ive given it a cut & polish and fully steam cleaned it up, detailed and tuned... oh and rego and full RWC)

It comes with a fully rebuilt & worked L26 on a pallet

What are ppl willing to pay for them these days?

hi mate

What people seem to have forgotten is that the 240K was never anything special. Yes, as a new car they were technically better than a Falcon or Kingswood, just in the same way that a Mistubishi 380 or Aurion is better than a Falcadore (judging by the 100 or so hire cars I've driven in the last 3 years).

They never had the brand loyalty that Holden and ford do, so when they started to get a bit tired, owners sent them to the scrap heap, or just abandoned them on the side of he road.

During high school and uni, I recall at least 6 of my mates owning 240K's (about 8-9 cars in total) and they were nothing more than a cheap mode of transporrt until they could afford something better. Those of us who were die hard Datsun heads dreamed of a 1600 SSS or 240Z. Not a 240K, or 180B and certainly not a 200B or bluebird.

Now that old school cars are so cool, and Skylines are so popular thanks to the R32 GTR and the whole drift culture thing, these 240K's have become very sought after. Unfortunately most have been crushed and turned into Daewoos, as they didn't have enough mid life appeal to save them from the wrecking yards.

Whether it's right or wrong, that's the harsh reality.

Well, he said that if he doesn't offload it, it;s going to the wreckers. That should give you a clue that it's not going to cost the earth. Besides, the guy selling it isn't in the business of trying to make millions on selling 240K's now that they have found new popularity. I think he just wants the shed space so he can finish building his new rally car.

things have certainly changed in the past 3 years.. They use to come up on ebay quite regularly for around $1500-$2000, same with NOS parts.. they use to come up regularly.. and relitively cheaply

My 2nd 240K coupe i bought for $750 off ebay ;) It was in really good condition (had Been sitting in a field for 9 years, but other than a bit of dirt and a nest of mice it was really good!)

Things certainly seemed to have dried up quite a bit, especially with NOS parts.. atleast parts prices arn't as rediculous as they are in japan :)

Luckily i have 3 coupes (1 is unfortuntately destined for scrap as the previous owner lost the compliance tag) including a 240K GT (only a handfull of those left now! i was real lucky to find that one) which i will get around to restoring in a few years time once i finish my beast.

Does the "compliance tag" show that it's a 2 door ?

Is yours the one with an RB26 in it?

For your 2nd 240k, ill give you $1500 - you double your investment :P

dont forget im cashed up waitng as well :P)

Sorry, that one was boughtand sent to a guy in the US a few years back (after replacing bits and pieces on it (brakes etc.).. that car is just coming up for sale in the US for about $6k incidently (if any of the US guys are interested pm me and i will give you his details!)

and yep, one of my cars i am putting an RB26 in :P, and the other will be restored and put away for a while (most likely the GT, but i am having second thoughts and may keep that one instead, when people are throwing around figures of $5k+ it is tempting!).

    • I'm seeing torque specs all over the place for the OUTER tie rod, but none for the INNER tie rod, where it connects to the steering rack. Even in videos, people are just tightening em up as much as they can with a wrench and that's it. Anything tightened down without torque makes me nervous. Anyone know what the spec is for it?
    • Hope you had a great time here in our tiny country.   The JDM scene we have here is quite small, it's mostly BMW, Volkswagen with burble tunes haha. But the few JDM cars we do have in the scene are pretty nice. Some of my friends drive cool s14's too. Both built engines, red one makes abt 500, blue one abt 400 i think?
    • Ye good idea , would have never thought of something like that. Might aswell do it to every pulley and the balancer while I’m there
    • Use an LS1 or similar, via kit like Frenchy's. But.... It's probably not the alternator. It sounds like belt squeal, which would be because the pulleys are glazed. Rub every groove on the pulleys with 120 grit paper. Report back. Oh, and new belts afterwards too. The old new ones will be shitted up already.
    • Hello all I have 2 r34 sedans , one turbo one na, only recently aquired the na 34.  Man what is with these things.... My turbo 34 started sounding like a super charger, it was screaming at anything above 4000rpm , I took the alternator apart and replaced the front bearing which is the only one I think you can access and it did not fix the issue so presumably the bearing in the rear of the alternator is gone. ( diagnosed it was the alternator by taking off the aux belts one by one to figure out which pulley or bearing it was )  My friend gave me one he had lying around, Installed it , it did not squeal for maybe 500kms and now its started to squeal again briefly on startup  Recently got an na r34 and I replaced the timing belt, water pump + all the auxillirary belts. Runs amazing but it suddenly developed the same squeaking problem but significantly worse, Ive had my neighbour come down screaming at me because it was waking her up everytime I moved the car. It takes a good 2 minutes before it quietens down.  Im yet to diagnose where its coming from but im fairly sure its coming from the alternator aswell. My question isnt about how to fix it but rather where can you get a new alternator for an rb25 neo??? Ive searched everywhere but I havent been able to find a direct fit oem type replacement thats not genuine. All the automotive stores sell an oex one - BXA035 - which I picked up for cheap through a friend with staff discount , got it home only to find the connector is completelty different.... As far as im aware bxa035 is for rb20/30's and after a bit of figuring out the bxa035 has an ev14 type connector, which is tiny compared to the rb25 connector. I actually had an ev14 connector lying around which I was considering just replacing the bigger plug with to get the alternator working but the bxa035 is rated for 70amp vs the rb25 alternators are 90amp ( or so ive been told ? ) That paired along with the fact im about to install an amp + sub in the back and I have the stock sized small battery Im not sure itll do the job unless anyone has another opinion?  I know and have seen all the websites selling the ls1 alternator conversion kit but I am not going down that route, nor do I have the money to. Hopefully I can figure out how to get 2 brand new alternators for both cars. I would buy second hand which there seems to be many of but considering how common this seems to be im sure If I installed a second hand one it would start squealing in no time  Or even better if anyone knows how to fix the issue directly with the alternator itself... Any input appreciated Thank you     Link for bxa035 connector picture
