SLED
you don't need a certificate for 1 day off regardless of what your boss tells you.......you do for 2 days or more though. EDIT: .........and as long as you rang in sick at a reasonably early hour this morning. Krishy
I am with Sled on this one My work doesnt require a sick certificate if its only 1 day. If however its 3 or more days then i definately need a doctors certificate So i am guessing its the same for you as well craig. And as for excuses: 1. a massive headache 2. Diarhea (not sure of the spelling lol) 3. bad cough, runny nose and general soreness (possibly from something that you ate over the weekend, blame some restaurent for that) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236116-sickie/#findComment-4133400 Share on other sites
CRoNic...
Issue here is that your sick day falls on a Monday - a day after the weekend, so they'll most likely ask/demand a sick certificate otherwise they will assume you're partied hard all weekend! My previous workplace used to have the same policy - if it was a sick day mid-week, no questions asked, but if it was a Monday or a Friday, they came down hard on you!
