and it is one product I WILL NOT be involved in. already spoke to a few of my customers that had the system installed and were less than impressed with it.

had quicktrak not pulled the pin and cost me a $60k council contract I may have a different tune.

opposite of what i am hearing, people i know and very large fleets have recently installed the system and are thrilled with it especially now coverage is Australia wide which was a weakness with the system.

the new self tracking option looks quite good too providing instant location speed data etc and i have heard they are installing around 1000 a month now.

maybe they got your contract too!

Dear "Quikbux employee",

I believe your company's integrity and actions has been highly questionable.

I was a long time loyal QLD customer was has been ignored and forgotten since 12th Sep 2008.

Since then;

You stood by as your administators set legal action of false unpaid monitoring fees against me. (and many others here)

You promised to honour my remaining credit, yet this has not happened to date.

You deducted monies from my account this year when I had no services.

Not surprisingly, nor would I recommend giving money to this company. Not so much for the questionable way they ran the business, but more so for the lesson unlearnt; They have difficultly appreciating the importance of doing the right thing by the customer.

I can't believe they have the hide to come here sprout their 'improved' product directly to customers they have burnt.

Here's a free business tip; take a course in service recovery.

If you ever get a consious, you can start with me.

hmm tempted. I might pre-pay another monitoring fee to another incarnation of Quiktrack until it goes broke, "sells" the company but does not honour the prepaid monitoring fees and offers me a great deal to pre-pay again for the same service.

actually I might just pass

So should anyone be renewing their contracts with QuikTrak. My father in-law just got a renewal notice with an offer of an upgrade as well.

BUT the manager's name at the bottom is Cameron PALLISTER. From reading this thread I am gussing that the same family is running the company still and I would be very worried about continuing to use this service.

Chris could you advise any further on your customers experience with QuikTrak in it's new form. The website qiktrak.com.au says absolutely nothing about any of the problems in the past.

Thanks for your help.

Hi all, does anyone know how to remove these things out of your car, sick of my battery going flat after three days of not driving it.

Also - is it possible to still use the central door locking and remote when its removed.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

a couple of members have asked me to correct a few misconceptions and answer a couple of questions that have been raised on this forum.

1. all Quiktrak products now operate nationwide for both tracking and alarming. for those customers with old systems who are yet to upgrade we offer heavily discounted price for upgrades.

2. Quiktrak offer 3 products

A) CarTrak - track only devise allowing for nationwide tracking coverage, online tracking that features 60day playback, over speed and mileage reports.

B) SmarTrak - offer all the features of the Cartrak including inbuilt shock sensor and back up battery, remote immobilse and duress. it also has a mainpower alarm.

C) CarWatch - fully integrated alarm with 3 point immobilser, remote immobilser, door, boot/bonnet, main power fail, shock and tilt alarms. all alarms are monitored by QRC 24/7.

these products start at $199(for existing or previous customers) to $999.

to all previous customers we have offered substancial discounts and subsidised installation costs for upgrades of existing systems.

we have now installed well over 1500 of these units in the past 6 months and have had NO negative feed back from our customers who range from individuals, small to medium and large fleets.

we have also sold these units into Dubai, South Africa, Lebanon, Russia, Indonesia and Malaysia, again all positive feed back and resulting in repeat business.

i can always be contact on my email [email protected] if you have any questions or need clarification on something. Feel free to call customer service on 1300 885 461 for any general enquires.

Aus Spec 32 - depending on the model system you have ( i am assuming is old if you have power drain issues) if it is removed the central locking will not work, as it operates through the old QT940 modem.

bites tongue.

cameron,

you are aware there are a LOT of pissed off people. I'm getting investors from pallister/crewe companies from years ago calling me chasing lost funds and trying to get their hands on you/family trust.

may want to watch what you say :) I get a call a week from around the country like this with most of them quite upfront why they called me.

also whats with the name change you are about to do.

and example of *some* of the emails I get :

------------

"B) SmarTrak - offer all the features of the Cartrak including inbuilt shock sensor and back up battery, remote immobilse and duress. it also has a mainpower alarm."

This has NO alarm, remote immobilise and generally no duress connected. Only able to recognise a trigger from existing alarms (or duress if connected)

"C) CarWatch - fully integrated alarm with 3 point immobilser, remote immobilser, door, boot/bonnet, main power fail, shock and tilt alarms. all alarms are monitored by QRC 24/7."

Alarms used are cheap china with single immobilisation via EXTERNAL relay which is fail SAFE (ie - unplug/remove power from alarm, and the car will start) with coloured wiring.

Also if you are chasing (and have others doing the same) the Pallisters, I have their home address which is also "Quiktrak" head office. They are still using VixQuikTrak, as that it what is on the invoices and also the customer notices etc that were sent out for renewal.

Don't be too liberal with the info, as they're sure to know where it's come from. And I wouldn't trust the Company with 50c, let alone my car. Most disorganised bunch I've ever come across. From incorrect info given to customers to double billing and cutting off accounts when it's not paid.

The guys in Sydney know their shit, but at the end of the day it's still run by the same idiots in the head office.. which is in Perth by the way. There's also no real "front" anywhere else in Australia either.

Wide berth!

I can supply the email addy and full headers if you like. I found this one in my incoming mail this morning so I would be careful what you say as a lot of 'other' people read this and some of them not nice.

to the guys in perth at your office calling me for a install contact - please do not. if you want a install contact for brissy - you are DEFINTELY talking to the wrong person.

    • Sounds more like what Brad said, that it's mainly transfer. What pad bed in procedure did you use, and did you replace/machine the rotors, or just swap pads?
    • The stutter is almost entirely in the pedal. I don't feel the brakes release and reapply as you would with ABS engaging but the pedal feels that way, without the brakes releasing. It only lasts for less than a second and the pedal is fine again. It's hard to explain, sorry.  I'll get under this weekend and just double check everything is tight. Fluid is at max where I left it.
    • What bedding in procedure did you use?   When you say stutter, what exactly do you mean? Like it feels like someone letting go of the brakes momentarily and regrabbing them again to get you to stop? Re-reading your post, and that is what it kind of makes me think you're explaining, like theres a little bit of a jolt, likely just as you're reaching a stop. I've only had this issue once. And if its caused by what caused mine, you will want to get the car up on stands again and check it over. Mine was a case of a caliper mounting bolt coming out and letting the caliper rotate on the other remaining bolt and gave play in a wheel as it came to a stop. But not every stop either!
    • Yeop... binned it   This will be a summary will not many pics atm and cbf  Fixed the samsonas - it was totally munched Put a new precision 7675 T4 on with proper split pulse mani Got to Sydney to get to car - drove to canberra to get racecar - drive back to sydney that night Next day all day at Plasmaman putting on new clamps cleaning some things up and adding another large engine oil cooler sitting at the rear above diffuser to keep things cooler Next day - Tuesday - on Dyno - killer wikid awesome pumped out really good numbers - more mid range and on lower boost levels Wednesday - first prac - all day again getting the suspension right - had to borrow front suspension again - out do a lap come in - out do a lap - in - what i had just couldnt handle the load at the more consistent higher speeds - got a lap in at the end of the day that was pretty reasonable  Put it this way that lap wouldve had me in 4th in Pro am for the whole event - with only 700 hp and used tyres Thurs first official prac day - lap out warm up - then entered a hotlap with above setting and 80% effort took corners 1,2,3 and into 4 car felt awesome -  rear came around out of nowhere bang into the wall near front on at whatever 140 kmph Done, over, gone Just one of those how did that happen apparently as all indications show nothing out of the ordinary Got to spend the rest of the time at the event like I hadnt done before - was actually Ok mainly as I had my family and my boy is 9 and got treated like a rockstar Long trip home, lost a trailer wheel in nowhere land, X5 airbag suspension gave up half way across nullabour and rode on bumps stops (its now completely fine) had to do a 19 hr drive day on day 3 as accommodation got screwed up so just had to keep driving till found a town with some Now to reassess - hopefully the motor and other things are OK but yet to be seen too. There is no easy fix there is no i'll just order that part and get it sent - we'll have a talk to people see what can happen and what the go is but at minimum its rebuild from scratch struts forward and alot of time effort and $ should and if I return and if but maybe/ when  I have the cage tied into the front strut towers - if I didnt have that things couldnt been worse you can say its just a front end but if you know what goes into these cars... you'll know what that actually means in reality   Car was very fast. Disappointing we just didnt get to show it Effort doesnt win you races though     Apparently this is motorsport !
