i don't know if every1 already knew this

but its knew to me so i thought would post it up so u guys know as well

well at the moment i have no registration on my skyline but went to get it blue slipped

and i haven't passed yet, but he said i fix that small problem and i can bring it back and it would be all sweet

well as i left the mechanic...probably about 30m down the street got pulled over...

asked me to get outta the car and pop the bonnet

they asked me what my previous registration was

so i told him...i actually told him thw wrong 1 because i had forgotten it

but my sticker was still on my car so that helped me

then he talked into his radio and i heard the radio speak back

something about narcotics and amphetamines

so i thought it was about something else

then he asked if i was still selling drugs...

and i told him i never did, so he talked to the radio again to try and get the date of when this happen

then the other copper came across and said that i wasn't actually allowed to drive the car home...even if i failed my blue slip inspection and it was straight home from the mechanic, which was new to me considering the mechanic said it was ok and so does the rta site

but i just said ok and see what he does...didn't want to argue

but then he also said...so have u removed ur boost controller yet? and your intercooler and all these other things, that i was defected for before, and because i had and i was doing everything by the books

he let me go without a fine and said i had to tow it back home, but i lived not too far so i just drove it home...just trough small streats and very stealthy in my bring car...lol

but yeh he told me that the fine woulda been like 1k and to change my rego...because the rego has a bad history

i didn't know that the history only followed the rego, and also that they had all those details about specific defects so handy...like just over the radio

found it funny that he asked if my license was current...because i just got off my p's 2 days ago

wonder if he woulda given me a fine for not displaying p plates

lols

yeh any, this might be useless to some, but might be a good warning for others

just thought i should spread the word if anything

if its completely useless then u can just delete this thread too

lols

good to see your doing everything by the books. its pretty crazy how accessible your personal info is through all tiers of government. I knew the police keep history of the car and rego (as two separate entities) and i guess skylines fit the "coke dealer" stereotype.

bad luck on the rego but good cos it could have been alot worse

lucky dude...lucky......

about a month ago i got pulled over by an undercover in a xr6 turbo (sexies looking undercover car btw) (i was on my red p's at the time) anyway he asked for my licence and all that ....asked me to pop the hood....then he go's "btw your rego is out by 2 days..." i was like awww shiiittt" anyway long story short.....he let me off and told me that its a $500 for no rego and $500 for no third party....so im f*king lucky.....red p plater driving a r34 skyline and he lets me off.....anyone who calls cops dickheads is clearly doing something to make them act like dickheads....becasue all the cops i have been pulled over by have tried to stir me up and when they see im nice and respectfull they seem to change straight away.....

also got pulled over tonight for a RBT around the same are the xr6 pulled me over....he didnt even look at my car just did the rbt and looked at my licence and let me go (on my green p's atm) soo yea....cops arnt dickheads....just the ppl that call them dickheads are the dickheads

well i sure as hell dont believe that.most cops are total nobs, and thats from peronsonal experience.

1 night a mate and i both cruisin in our skylines, undercover cop pulls us both over(did nothing wrong)they end up reffering both of us to the DECC(EPA)

and that was after we were nice to them.and that was the 2nd for my mate in 2 weeks being referred to them cnts.now i have no chane of passing without spending big money.

when people say "they are just doing there job" that is totall BS..sure its their job but its a CHOICE,and they choose to be pricks.

end of rant:)

ROFL

yeh thats true some of them can be hard

but there are some that are good people too

just luck of the draw

mayb those cops were like that 2 u

beacause they jealous of ur car

hahaa

unfortunaly this is true...even tho it contradicts what i said befor....i guess i havent been driving as long as others...so my stories are limited to only the good ones atm...*cross fingures*

now i have no chane of passing without spending big money.

I'm sure if things were "legal" you wouldn't have any trouble passing without spending any money.

Sorry for pointing out the obvious as my car is far from legal also but I definitely won't be blaming someone who is just doing his/her job, instead I'll be blaming the person who put it there, ME!

Actually 3rd party insurance is valid for a further 14 days after your rego expires so he was wrong there.

True, but to be legal to the letter of the law is an onerous task so it's little wonder most of us choose to be practical about it. Each persons version of practical however, is a different thing. I've never been defected with my version but other people do and as we all know, personality plays a big part.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
