My goal is to find a twin plate clutch that as much as possible will be tractable and quiet and at the same time hold 350RWKW (which I don't have but I might one day and can't be stuffed doing the whole clutch thing twice. I've got 300).

In my searches I've found a Nismo Coppermax and Exedy 'something or other' twin.

I've come a cross the term 'boss drive' and would like to know what this is and what it means in terms of how the clutch will perform. Also, I understand clutches with sprung centres reduce vibration and chatter?

Any suggestions in terms of me finding a clutch that meets the above criteria will be gratefully received.

Cheers.

The Nismo twin feels like standard

Why only 1500kms? What makes you think the Nismo item will last any longer?

The Nismo has already lasted longer...I dont know why the ATS fried as was rated to 600PS and car wasnt making anything neaar that at the time. I live in Hokkaido(Japan) and it gets real cold here in winter(-10 to -20c) and all I can think of is the carbon doesnt like the cold.. It was put in by reputable jap tuner and they couldnt figure out why..

The Nismo is way smoother to drive though..

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
