Most useless fight ever.

That wasn't boxing. Hands dropped to the side of his body, no guard up, and keep running. That was NOT boxing.

Recipe for World Title:

Rule 1. RUN RUN RUN. If they can't catch you, they can't win.

Throw a few swipes (he's quick, I'll give him that, but no power or strength) and then quickly clinch so Eckles can't retaliate. Then proceed to hold Eckles EVERY FCKUING TIME and wind down the clock... If you feel like it, throw in a cheap shot as the clinch is broken up by the referee.

Repeat for 12 rounds.

you guys are ****ed!!!

you have no understanding of the word "boxing" - it wasnt a schoolboy brawl behind the sheds at 3pm, you either hit or get hit!

and for those who commented how he didnt fight and didnt use his fists, errrrrr......did you manage to see eckles's ****ed up face? it wasnt like that BEFORE the fight, so errr maybe he got hit around the head a few times?!?!? DUHHHH!!!!

and on top of that, it was a UNANIMOUS decision, you dont score POINTS when you grab and hold, you score points by landing PUNCHES with your FISTS..

FFS! get over the attitude and the jealousy or whatever you have against Mundine and recognise his ability to BOX!

sorry guys but im with franks here..

yes mundine is dickhead..

BUT.. he won.. adn he did it without biting someone's ear of etc.. as franky said it was unanimous decision..

mundine is not a big hitter.. he grinds his oppenent down through his superior speed and athleticism.. how is that not boxing?? sure it isnt as spectacular as watching somene get knocked out.. any trainer will tell you in boxing footwork is one of the most important aspects..

merli..

"That wasn't boxing. Hands dropped to the side of his body, no guard up, and keep running. That was NOT boxing. "

there are many different styles.. when im in competitions i dont have my hands up either.. i like inviting the person in to have a hack.. if ure quicker and u know it.. why not flaunt it?? to say that it wasnt boxing was hmmm .. he has his own style.. and as much as we all know he is a tool in person.. he is a great athlete no one can deny him that..

Franks, you really have to stop undermining other people when discussing topics. All it does is detract from the point you're putting forward.

I boxed for 6 years, when I was younger, how many years boxing experience do you have?

If you had any fight experience, you'd know how just how little it takes to create a flesh wound like Eckles got. Flesh bruises VERY easily and all it takes is a quick jab to the face in a meaty part (in this case the flesh under the eye) to make it swell up in defence. That is the body's natural reaction to injury.

I've missed punches to the head, and just glanced alongside the cheek and split it wide open. Human flesh is VERY easy to make swell up, and is NO indication of hurting the opponent (although it does disable them during the fight).

... and that's all Mundine was doing. Hands down, no guard and throwing wild jabs from the sides whilst backtracking constantly... He was even backtracking in the LAST ROUND!!!! That was *NOT* boxing.

He was out there to win a "World Title" (snicker) and that's what he did. He did exactly what he had to do to win it, and I'll pay that (even though it disgusted me)... If you saw the 1999 Hopkins vs. Eckles fight, you'd know just how much punishment Eckles can take and remain standing. It's incredible. Mundine didn't have the power to even faze Eckles, let alone knock him out... When Eckles lost his composure, it was PURELY out of frustration because he couldn't catch Mundine who was always backing away, and then stepping forward with defensive jabs to keep Eckles at bay, and then backing away again.

There is no way that Mundine would ever have knocked Eckles out. He just doesn't have the strength, and he knew that. There were only two possible outcomes from this fight:

1. Eckles KO's Mundine and wins by result.

2. It goes the distance and Mundine wins by points.

Mundine recognised this, as did thousands of other people and he did what he had to to win the fight.

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
