I think thats funny. I spoke to a cop the other day at the GTIR track day meetup, won't say names. he told us someone has to really push him hard to defect them, like run there mouth off, otherwise he would let them go. but when I asked which was his, it was the black GTIR with heaps of mods and 180KW at all 4 wheels! classic, he said that he could use his car for work but doesn't think its right to trap people like that. that is the best cop I have ever met

I was just talking to some friends in the force again today and they think im crazy that i cant get over the fact they have a R34 GTR.... supposedly the cops have a wide selection of cars they could use such as porsches, BMWs, etc etc

btw the R34 GTR has already been bought and will probaly been in use soon, if not now...

franks , thats the reason they don't have rexes anymore , maybe they want to try the gtr's now . i've heard that a cop is driving a supra in mulgoa rd penrith he is baiting drivers with turbos then radios his mates that are waiting 500 mtrs down the road and pulls them up , i dont live there so i don't know how true it is but a mate told me that he has heard them (cops ) on the scanner .

A. If the NSW Police have an R34 GTR now or ever you can have my house for free. Will through in the wife and kids.

B. There are entrapment laws in NSW and other states but not for driving only Crimes Act, for drugs usually. Police have used hotted up cars and no doubt raced then booked members of the public way back with Toranas to current but ususally have powerfull car rather to catch rather than temp. They are bastards keeping us all from killing ourselves speeding etc, but yes they could spend much more time catching real badies rather than worrying about a BOV or other petty item and catch the guy who stole a car from us last year.

I agree thourghly with you, keeping us from killing ourselves is one of there biggest priorities. But some of them go out of there way to pull you up. I have driven past an RBT unit before (3 lane rd) and the guy saw me coming and couldn't wave the batton fast enough to get me in!

On valentines day, on my way home to get changed, I saw more cops than on the whole long weekend blitz in my area. They pulled me over after following me for a while, went over my engine bay (I was being upfront and honest without a sarcastic tone) and he tried to do me for a BOV when it was the factory nissan item! then as he is letting me go after the debate he pops his head in my car door and gives it a boot full. NOT EVEN I REV MY CAR THAT HARD AT IDOL!:D

so not all of them are serving the public the way they should be

Just thought i'd mention that i have seen a black R34 around Paddington with the plates Munstr....monstr something like that and it is one hell of a sweet car!!! Havent been close enuff to see the driver but who knows could be it............

I live in the a place pretty much none has heard of and got pulled over, in my r30 (ahha yeah laugh at me) skyline which I only got 2 days before, they looked at the tyres n stuff gave me a breath test the he charged me for neg cos I cut the corner, at 12midnight who cares. Profit making if ive ever seen it he claimed I was all over the place a went too fast around a corner pffft not happy $178 later.

Today tonight said a while back that a task force was being set up by police to stop Illegal Street racing..... Maybe this could be the reasoning behind the GTR....

NSW (i think) is the only state where entrapment hold's up in court.

Why else would we have THREE sign's before a speed camera.....

Radar's set up on a Flat road's (cause gravity on hill's affects the vehicle's speed)

and RED LIGHT camera's Signed..!!

QLD have none of these warning's.... and they even race people on the roads and then pull them over.... (another today tonight story) I think it's the same in Vic too

I'm only going on what i've seen and heard.....

Loz

I tend to agree with what John said.

While I do think some cops hassle import drivers, it also takes a level of stupidity to get their attention in the first place. I have had my r33 for over a year now and havent been pulled over in it once...

I think if there was going to be a R34 GTR driving around, it would be a personal car being used by the cops...

Oh and Lozza... Blitzkrieg is a PC game!!!

    • Cheers. Skyline is back on the menu, can’t get rid of it. It’s like a child you don’t want, or herpes
    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
