quite frankly isnt there only a few members submitting pics, therefore obviously if we try and squeeze in 2 cars per month, then 24 members, or group shots available in there aswell! just so we dont get the pages of abuse, or discrimination e..t.c. blah blah, but anyway thanks again to flick and luke cant wait to see em

^ that would cost alot more.. more colour, more ink, more design time needed.. Im footing the setup fee out of my pocket, dont mind at all, cos im excited about doing this, but the more set up time/design time needed, the larger the fee.. Modifying the main page photo to fit 2 photos would also warp the photos a little.

Basic is better and more effective anyway, 1 main page photo and 3 or 4 smaller ones on the date page below it. Trust me, seen it done by the 31 club and it looks good and organized and very effective.

I know what you mean though jonny.

Im trying to be fair.. The photos for the main pages will be the ones that are best quality and look good at a decent size. Im saving everyones photos to a file marked with their names on it, so I will try and include every car submitted, even if its just in a smaller photo. People are just gonna have to be understanding and not get angry if they arent a main photo.. I cant please everyone, but im gonna do what I can. The small photos wont be TOOOO small, they will still be decent pics of the cars!

Some people havent submitted photos but have given me permission to use ones of theirs I already have aswell.

yea i see where your coming from flic, but i can see as someone else said that people will get angry at not beina main pic or no pic in it! but thats life! hope the set up and design fee isnt to much flick otherwise just add $2 or so onto the calender cost! so just as an idea, thursday is picture end date, then prob a week for you to desgin/finalise, so prob 3 weeks or so and we can hopefully be ready to recieve em, just trying to get a guideline, let this not start another hoody thread fight! hehe

peeps lots of photos in my profile but thousands more on drives. feel free to use them if you see anything you like.?

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ga...-user47405.html

if you see anything you like in it i can email the larger ones to use. tonight my wireless is too slow , weather issues. and tomorrow I'll whip up some photoshop files to ponder as well. so check again tomorrow later on.

would be cool to get together a photoshoot sometime charmaine , get a cruise together when the rain stops...lol anyone have connections to airport hangers or warehouse to shoot in? or maybe the docks in the port ? someplace to shoot without cops hassling us..lol

some night shots and day shots maybe?

flick what size shots do u need?, DPI and pixels wide, tall? do you know the print device id so i can colour match the profile output? are you using adobe indesign or ?

sorry didnt want to dig thru the whole post to see if you said the info..lol

^Troy, Ill have a browse through the link tonite after work.

As for size, well i dont know exactly, but obviously the bigger the better, so full res if possible, thats all I know.

I dont know what the print device is, or what programme they use, I wont know until friday. I just have to take the photos to them, sit down with them and design the calender with them.

Kye, that would be Jack Buster :D

And photos have to be in by thursday night :)

haha woops! cut me some slack i was on my 11th or 12th beer by then!

might just bust out my skills on the camera and see what happens :)

just a bit of info for submitters, most phone cameras wont be able to produce good photos for printing?, they only look ok on screen and not A3 or A4 print sizes? big difference in photo DPI, 72dpi versus, 300-600dpi or more for gallery quality? they dont have enough to work with when blown up and printed. look fuzzy and grainy, if you have a real camera use it even a cheap one takes better shots then a phone? just my two cents before huge setbacks and time wasted on photoshop.

and the printer will reject the shots because the hi end printer wont print shots in the wrong formats or colours. even newspapers use higher res photos then a phone produces?

hint, make sure your shots aren't JPG with max compression (poor quality for print) or tif with lzw compression it crashes the printers and corrupts files.

wish i would have picked up this thread earlier so i could help more, maybe next time?

still no takers for photos?, I'm free tue afternoon, wed all day so far and maybe thursday am

troy, thanks for that Info. The printers didnt say much to me.. but im sure i wrote somewhere no photos taken from a phone, purely for that reason. They may be ok for small photos but not the main page.

All good. Still ahve till thursday night to get me photos, plenty of time!!

Never done anything like this, and still new to photography, im still learning. Like ive said before, ill use the best photos im given as the main ones..

All the ones ive been given so far are JPG, so thats a good start :ninja:

people, take troy up on his offer for photos if you can, would make perfect shots for the main pages!!

flick, i know charmaine had some pretty decent photo's

of my car and sent them off to you,

please dont put it as a main photo.

i dont want people getting there knickers in a not.

cheers :ninja:

even something out of this world is possible, this took about 15 min to whip up ...lol

give anyone ideas yet?..lol

this is at 600dpi saved highly compressed jpg from the original file size of 27mb

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
