Um, stagea is only 1680kg's, and not over 1700kgs as previously stated.

I used to own a stagea, and I have spent a bit of time in Mitch's as both passenger and driver. Now *dons flamesuit* I have to say that I would prefer the leggy myself. The thing is, the stagea is NOT a sports car and never will be - its a luxo barge. The leggy FEELS much lighter when you are driving it, it has a bucket load more kick from a standing start and the triptronic is light years ahead of the stagea IMO. I also dont believe that you can point at them and say they have crap gearboxes. I think, also as previously stated, that it is more of a maintenance issue than a reliability issue, but no matter what car it is, ALL imports share the same risks in this area.

A S2 ("facelift" model) S type would be my pick - but def try and get the hi-vis dash at a minimum. They are teh shizz.

RS4 is kinda in a slightly different price range.. lol..

the other car that wagon lovers might want to consider..

Caldina

yeh not a big fan of the caldina either...the shape doesn't look right...reminds me of a extended toyota starlet...the newer one is o.k but then i think i would want a m35 instead.

see also carmen imports here in brissy. he has two of them that the ENTIRE MMCS system works :P ( I know this because I did them.)

kristian,

you speak my language.

NM35->EC5W- WGNC34 ->ST246

Thats feral

M35 > EC5W > WGNC34 > ST215W

my lineup is a bit different...

EC5W > WGNC34 Series 1 > M35 > WGNC34 Series 2 > ST215W

the S1 stag's can look awesome with a good set of rims and lowered.. the S2's are just ugly all the time. :)

The more i see the more i like of these things haha.

Jake get a VR4 :)

lolz man i'm considering if i sell the r32...if not a legnum i will buy a galant...i like the practicality of it. heaps of space, power and rare. maybe if i can find a good priced manual i might get one.

    • I refer you to this thread on PF, by someone who knows what he's doing. Paints a good picture of the humble AD09.
    • Ha, I've never pressed the X in all these years incase it removed the notification for all Admins
    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
