what i have done is put layers of aluminum foil down and taped it up with masking tape, you will notice that it is quite thick in the grooves, this is so when you roll it the roller dosent go through the foil

Test fitment of the first glass mat layer, this will give you the basic shape.

i've always thought of putting a small encloser around the towers there.

to fit a shallow 12 and amp hidding in the wall, just to keep the space. or even just a dual 12inch behind the seats for easy removle, as its not a daily driver not really fussed

im liking the look of your setup so far, but i got one of those kenwood dvd's and the system box of what even is in that pocket you filled, but can wait to see the final outcome :D looks good

Looks the goods mates. Only thing is on the left hand side behind the panel in the boot is the computer for the Atessa system and on the right hand side is the oil bottle for the Atessa system. In saying that it would probably be a good idea making it easy to remove so you can access to the Atessa computer and oil bottle.

Yeah, i thought of that, they will be completely removable. when i had the bluey, the system was awesome, but it was totaly impractical, no boot space. hehe as you can see

Quick update guys.

ok a framework has to be made so as to hold everything in place.

when you have finished the framework the fibreglassing can begin.

what i didnt take a photo of is me streching the "T-Shirt" matrial over the framework and hot gluing/ stapling to get the shape i want.

then you just get resin and paint over the matrial, giving you a good hard but brittle shape to start putting your mat on.

the box itself is going to be a sealed box so now im fining all the holes and pluging them up.

next step is i will be glassing over the amp to make it so it is sunk into the box. ill take a few photos of that process..

ok framework for sub and amp mount.

OK, so I don't want to start a new thread, but what are thew biggest sized speakers you can fit into the standard spots in the doors, without modifying the door skins?

I don't want to go the the effort of the boot install, but I'm putting in my HU and Jaycar Response 4x50WRMS amp (was thinking of under the drivers seat for mounting), and my factory speakers have gone to heaven due to my love of the new Girl Talk album......talk about bass!

I remember threads on the speakers, but I can't find them....at all!

Cheers, Greg.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
