hi guys

i would like to know the differences in R34 GT-R..the YEAR MODELS!

the info about V-spec 1, V-spec 2, V-spec 2 NUR, M-spec, M-SPEC NUR, N1, Z-TUNE is WIDELY available online and im sure all of us has all about the Carbon fibre, bonnet, larger turbos, different internals, different suspension etc etc etc.

but so far NO ONE.....and NOTHING has been said between the year models

i understand the R34 GT-R begain production in 1999 and ceased in 2003... and in 2003, they bought out the NUR, & N1s & Z-TUNES.

i currently now know that the common differences, e.g Darker interior in Late model GT-R R34. darker Headlights in late model R34 GT-R. different colour under bonnet foil material, different colour console silver. different colour side markers, different pedals, bigger rear rotors, different nissan badge, different radiator.

can anyone else add some more info?

:P

There were 45 V-Spec N1s built in 1999, but there were also a handful of V-Spec II N1s built in late 2000, possibly less than 20, and most of which went straight to the track rather than being registered. They were only available from a handful of dealers, and made in very small batches of 5 or so at a time. Cost more than V Spec IIs, but virtually every luxury was deleted, although things like the stereo could be optioned back into it if the owner desired.

I don't know why I know so much about this topic lol.

Yeah I can.

They stopped production in 2002, not 2003.

Here's all the info you need.

i guess no body can add anything

yes i know all about wikipedia...

as i said, the things said in wikipedia is very very widely distrubuted about the GT-Rs

but like for e.g

ive just learnt the Later model R34 GT-R has an additional METAL housing around the ECU, new paint codes for later model...deleting some old ones and putting some new colours.

interior is BLACK for the later models rather than GREY in the earlier models.

and also things like.....the Mirror adjustment knob is different on the later model R34 GT-R.

yeah i know all about that also...n1s etc etc

what i meant was

for e.g i owned a Toyota supra 97' TT

and it started production in 1994 and pretty much finished in 98 i think... and then bought out rare ones in 99 etc

what i noticed is...throught the years, it was VIRTUALLY the SAME CAR!, but minor improvements...

i.e later models had different tail lights, darker headlight housing, different side markers & extra red markers at the back that stay ON when parkers are on.

later models have an anologe clock rather than a digital in the earlier ones. different seat material in later models.

they changed the rims in later models, different steering wheel & slightly different arrangement in the instument cluster.

and near the end of production they made them all VV-ti's.

yeah i just thought i might know a bit more about GT-Rs before i purchase one.

because the Late model supras actually look HEAPS better than the original ones.

so if u think about it....the supra was the same car but they actually changed alot of things.

but so far it seems the GT-R has alot less difference through the years.

lol - ORLY? Perhaps you can enlighten me with the rest of what you know about them then?

well is there really a point?

all u gotta do is CUT/PASTE from Wikipedia and theres evrything u need to know about them

well since u want me to do that

heres an intresting info: N1 Race Version = 45 Vehicles

& "R34 N1 models were produced from the factory, 12 of which were used by Nismo for Super Taikyu racing. The rest were sold to various customers, mostly racing teams, and tuning garages."

anyhow, thats irreleveant.

does anyone else know anyother differences?

My point is that I went to the trouble of typing out something I thought you might not know, only to be told you already knew it!

Seeing you obviously know more than me about N1s, I'm offering you the chance to do likewise and share with me what information you have that isn't from Wikipedia. The information on Wiki isn't quite correct, by the way.

Oh and the Z tune came out in 2005.

N1 built engine = All N1 upgrades of internals and N1 turbos, which run 1.1 Bar Boost (15.9 Psi) from factory as opposed to the +0.7 or +0.8 Bar from what the standard model GTR's ran.

No A/C, Radio / CD player, rear and boot carpets and rear windscreen wiper and came with a carbon fibre bonnet all to save weight.

Its based on a V-Spec II R34 GTR, so it will have very firm suspension and a lower ride height. Larger rear disk rotors, front and rear defusers to allow the air to flow better under the car and a few updated readings in the MFD and a slightly different trim for the interiour.

well, i actually dont know much about the N1...i think they have slightly different side skirts.. i probably would never be able to get my hands on one either.

thats why i was just asking about the differences between the year models of the standard or v-spec ones.

all i know is...that its a crazy machinery!...

anyhow...no hard feelings....

i do appreciate what u typed out.. ;)

All is forgiven - I type about 2 words a minute, so it was a lot of effort to post something that long haha

well thats good to hear

since were back in good terms again

do u own an R34 GT-R?

if so, is there any advice that you would be able to tell me as an owner?

im looking for the right one to buy...sometime in 2009 coming ...ill make up my mind on which.

the reason i asked this question in the first place is that i previously owned a Supra TT 97' and im pretty picky with things. the late model Supra actually looked so much better than the earlier ones and late models are more rare than the older model 94' + 95'. which at the time i had it..made it pretty original.

so with the GT-R R34 so far a quick blink on the interior...i think the only differences between early and late is the WHITE or YELLOW side markers. yellow being the older and white being the newer.

And the headlight housing.

I think if you are picky, like I am with my cars, minimum Vspec II. Has the black interior, a lot nicer, aluminum pedals, white blinkers, bigger brakes at the back, CF bonnet with snorkel.

what do u mean by

"alot nicer"?

so does the vspec 2 have the G-meter? & the lap timer??? or is that only a nismo feature/factory upgrade?

ill keep that in mind

thanks for that

Well the black interior, the carbon fibre bonnet, aluminum pedals and colour coded engine bay makes it look nicer in my eyes!

For example, go to zele-international.com. Look at a bayside blue vspec, and then a bayside blue vspec II, and look at the engine bay pics!

    • Hi, wondering if the HKS bar and water reservoir still available? Thanks
    • What an awesome idea to fit the facelift Lamborghini Diablo headlights. They are a perfect fit!
    • An update regarding the registration with the DVLA I sent off the paperwork the day after I collected the car from the port, two weeks later it was all returned with a letter explaining they have rejected the application. This was because the cheque was £20 short for the road tax (I used a price list I found online). Nevermind it is what it is, it was sent back to them the following day with a new cheque. Fast forward another 2 weeks or so, I called them for an update to be told it had been rejected. Yesterday (16th September) I received the documents back along with another letter, this time it was because I didn't put an X in one box on the V750 (personalised number plate certificate), which declared that I had the rights to the personalised number plate. Why this wasn't mentioned in the first rejection letter, I don't know, but it could have saved this headache. The documents were sent back today, so fingers crossed third times a charm and it'll FINALLY be registered on the road just in time for the bad weather (woohoo!) To cheer myself up I lowered the front 25mm, was sick of seeing it sit like a monster truck. No idea how much clearance I'll have getting on and off the driveway, I'll worry about that when I can actually drive it
    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
