So remember peters threads about kids throwing rocks at this car..

Well some idiot threw a big ass piece of rock onto a car which smashed the windscreen and landed onto my friends dads chest.. Which caused him to loose control of his car..

My dad called me up and said i gotta go- there is an emergency.. Im like WHAT.. he didn't tell me till i got home!! hmmm

Here is the story from the smh

A man is lucky to be alive after a two-kilogram rock smashed through his windscreen and into his chest, causing him to lose control of his car on a busy freeway before his quick-thinking wife applied the handbrake, police say.

The 56-year-old was driving on the F6 freeway at Berkeley, near Wollongong, when the rock - reportedly dropped from above by a young boy - smashed through his windscreen about 1pm yesterday, police said.

A motorist driving behind the victim's dark green hatchback sedan reported seeing a boy, in the company of another, drop the rock from the 50 metre cutting, Acting Sergeant Marty Weston said.

You'd think after all of the media recently with that chick who died when a piece of concrete smashed her in the face, they'd learn that its not a great idea.. Hope your dads mate is ok!

Few cuts and bruises but he is really in shock!! That is the worst part..

Seriously these kids are just a joke to society. They have no purpose in life and i ask god why they are even alive in this world!!!

Sorry to hear buddy.

Heard this morning on the radio, and was thinking how fu(king dumb must you be to get a kick out of doing it. These little fu(kers are simply a waste of air, and should be stood up against a wall and have 2kg rocks thrown at them!

kids are so stupid these days. If you wanna have some fun like that then throw waterbombs at cars. I know its still stupid but i used to do it when i was younger.

And how do they always get it through the windscreen. Its like they've watched mythbusters to much and calculate everything so that they get the windscreen

Seriously i dont know why god brought you into this world!!

Coz their dumbass anmial like parents forgot to wear protection when they were doing it...

But seriously, sorry to hear about this.

egg hit my gtr on the same road a couple of months back.

i live in the area if i hear anything ill let the police know

Thanks mate!! much appreciated!!

Sorry to hear about your car getting egged :D

This is by far the dumbest comment I have read on this forum for a long time.

i used to live down the road, alot of young dero's causing trouble. if i hear anything from friends there be sure to let u know

these kids need to be taught a good lesson

Cheers mate  Thanks heaps!!!

btw Watch the 6 o-clock news today!! They got a story about it

Isn't this in approximately the same area where that woman got blinded by someone throwing rocks off a bridge onto the freeway?

What is wrong with the people down there? Why can't they just go masturbate into a jar instead?

Man, the stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me - like others have said, how can anyone get enjoyment from doing something like this?

Hope your mate's old man recovers well from the shock.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
