hey folks,

i think someone may have taken my wheel nuts, after parking my car at north boondall station during the day yesterday, i drove about 2km and with only 2 still on the rear right in the space of about 300m after i detected the sound i moved the mirror down and seriously almost crapped myself when i saw my wheel (*edit: my entire rim) pretty much flap outwards, lurching the car sideways while i was going about 50. of course i stopped and jumped out, called some generous friends and a towie.

turns out the bolts are actually sheared from the base outwards so theres nothing to screw a nut to.

can anyone give advice on the cost of the part or give me advice?

ah this was like 4 years ago... and only had to replace one (as i snapped it off)

but back then it was like $10 for the new stud and bolt and $10 for the labour

or something along those lines..

you get different sizes though (length and width) so if you do it yourself just make sure you get the right ones

(maybe take one of the old ones out and take it with you)

Take what's left of the stud down to repco (QWK32 has the right dimensions though) and get them to size up the correct one (Correct spline etc, they should have it listed in their book). They were about $4 each when I had to replace them.

You can do it yourself, on my R34 (and I imagine earlier models are similar) you just have to rotate the hub (need to take the brake gear off obviously) until the stud lines up with a hole in the brake dust cover and then wack it out and stick the new one in. Bolting the wheel up pulls the stud into the spline completely.

thanks guys all fixed, im just looking for a couple of stocko rims now, i think my current rim may be unballanced

Hi Jimmy

I have 2 stock rim that you can have for $80, I am based in the City or Chandler. Regards Taylor 0408188777

Cheers

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
    • FYI: Racebox RE7R Custom Tunes Released!   https://goracebox.com/.../2017-infiniti-q50-q60-re7r-tcm...   FOR GEN 2 (21+) VEHICLES, PLEASE SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM See more   But whomever tuned your car is the tuner you should go back to, AMS, Sonictune or BT Tune....
