im cool with that, but by the looks of it ill be competing against myself lol.

but it wont be an issue at this event as i am at F1.

still think its weird running a major amature motorsport event on the same weekend as F1 :)

That is motorsport. I agree.

If you cant stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.

I for one couldn't care if John or anyone else was competing in my category. If im a good enough competator then ill earn my position on the results table and thats where Id belong.

No use complaining because there is always going to be someone better/faster than you.

If im top 5 great if im bottom 5 well thats were I belong for the given day. Suck it and shake the winners hand and learn from it all.

No use changing classes to suit various Hybrid cars either.

Look at the rules, build the best car you can afford within the guidlines and go compete.

If my car passes to race at statelevel events, will it be elligable for this? not worried about the belts but I don't remember ever seeing an FIA stamp any where on the seat. Perhaps it is on the bottom.....haven't looked under ther in many years.

Motorsport is 1 where you jump in wilth all the big fish and you just have to see where ur all standing after all the BS stops at the end of the day. It might just be that you look down the list, and in your own mind strike off all thoes out of your walletts reach. Point is to enjoy the day and do your best.

LOL If that is the case then I should have bought Mark's and Russ's R32, hire a driver, over indulge with booze in the pit lane and still call it a sport :( If it's free to modify race class then why is there a need to exclude Lotus, Lofty, Mark/Russ, Garth Waldo/BEL into the pro class?

On a serious note, rules are generally developed for the success and survival of such event. If the rules are only designed such that people just want to enter for fun, then that fun will soon burn out and the event may be jeopardized. If the rules make everyone feel competitive then the rules promote more enthusiasms for everyone.

Having said that, all of the motorsport events I've entered were only for fun. I will try to bring my R32 GTR to the event. It is slightly modified, has a half cage and RE55s tyres so it will probably be in the open class. If fund permits I will try to hire a stirrer for my turbocharged s2k as well. However I do feel unfair for the other owner-driver to have such experienced driver in their class. That's why I suggested the open class subcategories of driver-owner/hired drivers or may be a semislick/street tyres subcategories in the supersprint class.

Queenslanders, has anyone got connection with a car transport company? What would it cost per car if we all chip in to hire a multi cars carrier/truck for the superlap weekend?

you are all a bunch of sooks!

who gives a sh1t about the rules/classes etc as what ever they make them they wont please everybody.

treat it as a track day, have some fun and come out on the piss afterwards.

getting your arse whipped every now and then is character building.

the best part is you can run EC on Sat. then OP sunday....what a weekend!

exactly what I'm doing. Signed up for Autosport's EC track day last week as soon as I saw the date for Superlap.

any news about Oran getting hired out pre the event? Saturday or the Friday?

That would be great if it could happen.

If not, EC on Sat. then OP on Sun. would be cool too!

Any details of the EC track day guys? A link?

I have a good connection, how many cars you thinking? Mine's out as I'm F1-ing.

you'll need to register on the site to sign up to the event. Only 18 positions remaining currently so get onto it now!

ok, I have a friend with an interstate trucking business, ranging from flat beds to a race car friendly B-Double that can load seven cars and all their support gear, including very low cars.

The sooner you work out what you need sooner we can solidify it. I'd suggest contact Giant, he loves towing especially in his new 'Cruiser, but he may want to add two cars into the fold?

Ad maybe Harry, Evo Cam too? I'll leave it to you guys :)

talking it up like that is kinda asking for a breakdown, but I've driven it to a Wakefield track day as well as Superlap last year, and half a dozen local events without any issues. Stock Supras don't breakdown. As long as I can stop the tyre rubbing through the main wiring loom (so far its only taken out the ABS and traction control, so its no biggie) I'll be alright I think!

the bumps in the midlle of the kink and one in the downhill left hander after the bridge at Lakeside make the front right rub on the wiring loom diretly above it... I've already raised it up 10mm at the front, but it still rubs. I'm hoping a pair of swaybars will stop it - I don't want to go any higher.

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
