Emissions regulations tightened at the start of 2004 in Australia, so that effectively rules out anything later if you want a turbo model. They are still working on getting them through at the moment, but having enormous difficulties.

Nissan did make a 3.5 litre NA model, so you'd have to convince a workshop to do the evidence for them if you're keen enough and patient enough.

Mate, I would suggest that you do a little research on this forum and have a look at what a couple of us are going thru with these VQ25DET motors. One person has just had a succesful court case against an import workshop for providing false info. We are now on the same path (unfortunately) and are seeking a judgement against the import broker. On top of all the money we forked out for the car we are now faced with about $10G's for a court case as well. 20 months we have been trying to get this bloody car thru emissions and I seriously doubt if it ever will!

Do your homework bud and don't become another victim.

cheers

i know that you cant do it as the car has to be before november 2003. i've also been looking for some time to get one :P

the ruling itself is very contradicting.. and i can see where people are getting it all wrong..

hmm, I was of the understanding that your car had the VQ35DE. Or was that the other court case?

And the VQ35 models came in manual too - I've been tempted for a while now...

So am I, rear wheel drive but not cheap last time I looked and now F#@KING expensive, then they have emissions to sort as well, they will pass just different test for Manuals and Auto which doubles the price. It will happen but the market needs to stabilise a lot more.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
