Means the air/fuel mixture inside the cylinder is exploding under its own free will from compression instead of burning when the engine ignites a spark from the spark plug.

Ie. your engine will eventually die if it continues like this.

thanks mate, so the fix is a tune. could it be because it was not tuned properly when i put in the Power FC a couple of months ago.

is the problem only happening when the light comes on during high boost or all the time?

Yep a tune will fix it. Did it get tuned when you installed it? Or are you just running it on the base map?

The light also flashes if the injectors are maxing out, or if the airflow metre is maxing out. So it could also be that.

Check your hand controller's max knock count, max airflow voltage and max injector duty cycle to see what one it is. But most likely it is knock.

Best bet just take it back to your tuner and get him to check it out. When you take it there, get the car's engine light to come on along the way but don't turn the car off when you get to him. That way he can have a look at all the max values on the hand controller and tell you straight away what's causing it. Whether its knock, the afm or injectors.

Good luck.

i started reading and when u didnt know wat knock was straight away i suspected u wouldnt have the correct fuel in it... i see it alot.... kinda makes me angry sumtimes lol..... if it was tuned on 98 and ur gonna go flog it sumwhere make sure it has that octane fuel in it. minimum u can run lower octane fuel if ur just lightly cruising but it still not recommended. my 2cents

yeh i no it was tuned on 98 and i'm ment to run 98, but the servo had run out. they only had 95 and i had 10 mintues to get to the crusie. what i didn't realise is the damage that could of been done while i was out with 300 other cars letting her have it for 4 hours.

well shouldnt it have clicked wen for sum reason sumthing different is happening now that ur not running the same petty(generally flashing lights mean get off the go peddle).... like seriously now. thats like puttin canola oil in ur sump and saying oh she'll love it..... sorry to rant on but sum ppl are just so ignorent.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
