He was pulled over by the Police in Marion St Leichhardt.

He's been pulled over before in his highly modified donk Alfa 33 and got pinged.

Plan B:-

He keeps both of his 'Remotes #1 & #2' on him at all times when in this car.

He keeps them separated from his keys.

When he's been pulled over this time, he got out of his car and locked it with #1.

The officer asked him to pop his bonnet, he said, "Sure Officer" and pulled out #2.

But #2 didn't work. Then he presses it again in front of the officer and nothing happens. He said, "I'll have to go back home and get the other one then."

He got let off.

There was one flaw that the officer didn't pick up on, but that didn't matter.

This is the most laughable strategy I've heard for a while, even more so that a 'lawyer' came up with it.

Will not work:

* I'm pretty sure its defectable to not have proper 'control' of your vehicle, much like the 'broken bonnet latch' trick

* By going home you will need to leave the car where you stopped it, hope its not on a highway / no-parking / no-stopping zone

* Chances are the cop will call in a tow-truck to move it if point 2 is true, chances are it'll be moved to an impound yard.

Yeah some lawyer this guy is...

Very good, but obviously the officer didn't twig that he still must have the keys to drive the car and the same keys will also open the doors.

Would be noisy but meh.

Am I correct, do I win with my simple non random non rant (answer)?

not a bad ploy me thinks. alarm would go off but depending on the alarm it would turn itself off after a while. door would still open and you would still be made to open the bonet. maybe say your alarms playing up and whenever the coppa puts his head under the bonet turn your alarm siren on to make it uncomfortable on his ears and hope he doesnt take to it with his gun.

Cops don't use their guns in australia, what are you on about......It's not like the car is holding two knives or something ;)

Two points to make.

If you think it will stop the defect, it wont. You will merely be directed to an inspection station.

You commit an offence by obstructing the officer. The lawyer risks being removed from practice if it became common knowledge that he knowingly assisted in the commission of an offence.

Not a real smart lawyer.

      I don't. I mean, mine's not a GTR, but it is a 32 with a lot of GTR stuff on it. But regardless, I typically buy from local suppliers. Getting stuff from Japan is seldom worth the pain. Buying from RHDJapan usually ends up in the final total of your basket being about double what you thought it would be, after all the bullshit fees and such are added on.

      The hydrocarbon component of E10 can be shittier, and is in fact, shittier, than that used in normal 91RON fuel. That's because the octane boost provided by the ethanol allows them to use stuff that doesn't make the grade without the help. The 1c/L saving typically available on E10 is going to be massively overridden by the increased consumption caused by the ethanol and the crappier HC (ie the HCs will be less dense, meaning that there will definitely be less energy per unit volume than for more dense HCs). That is one of the reasons why P98 will return better fuel consumption than 91 does, even with the ignition timing completely fixed. There is more energy per unit volume because the HCs used in 98 are higher density than in the lawnmower fuel.

      No, I'd suggest that that is the checklist for pneumatic/hydraulic adjustable systems. I would say, based on my years of reading and complying with Australian Standards and similar regulations, that the narrow interpretation of Clause 3.2 b would be the preferred/expected/intended one, by the author, and those using the standard. Wishful thinking need not apply.

      Yes they do. For some maybe. But for those used the most by abusers, ie Skylines, the numbers are known. The stock eyebrow height for R32/3 Skylines is about 365/375mm or thereabouts. The minimum such heights are recorded in adjacent columns in the database.

      Hmmm, interesting. Makes me wonder whether there is bias as well. It's the cheapest fuel, so it is used for all kinds of ill-maintained shitboxes which are bound to have issues regardless. Nicer cars tend to require higher octane rated fuel and can't use it anyway. FWIW, the official NSW E10 facts page is decent.
