hardest thing i have ever tried... the raptor just got a make over as it had a terrain interuption (crash) flew it all day then had a brain fade and well blades and shite everywhere  quite a pissa

where do you normally fly? my mates bro in law is really into that stuff, got a few choppers and hes built himself a jet too. think he fly's over at altona?

as for how hard they are to fly, i've tried on a very realistic simulator, with the proper remote control, and i was offered $1000 by this guy who can really fly em, if i could hover it for 10 seconds.... thats how hard it is. and no, i didnt get the money :santa:

I have a copterX black angel (trex 450 clone - all metal and carbon). Amazing little thing. Fun to build

and satisfying to tune for smooth running.

Still learning nose in hovering, although I can do circuits and stuff in the sim.

i fly alot at the shop A/H there is a air bit of land around here (until the buildings get finished) My carpark is pretty good on weekends too.

as for how yeah, the $1000 dollar deal could even be $10000000 as ive offered guys with a similar bet and all fail, im pretty average but usually can fly long enough to empty tanks but even i stacked it pretty hard just before xmas

for you RC chopper fans this guy is the pimp of flying them enjoy

My God!

I bought an RC helicopter about a year ago and it only survived 2 flights both with pretty bad stacks. I'd love to repair it and try again (possible now I've got my own house) but fark it's hard. Any tips?

Yeah. Buy a simulator. (Phoenix or Realflight) connect up the dongle and your radio, and do the hover exercises until you can do figure 8s and hover nose in!

otherwise you'll just keep crashing and buying parts to repair it.

Everyone has a different experience but I took months of occasional sim use before I got it all sorted..

read the helifreak forums and watch the training vids they recommend.

if your heli isn't a quality one learning will be harder, it won't fly right to begin with!

Yeah cheers, that def sounds like the best way. There was a good book too I was looking at about rotary flight or something I should try and track down again as well. Might pop into the local hobby store and see what they've got sim wise as im sure even with the initial price it's cheaper atm and i can do it any time. My little copter is a Venom Night Ranger 3D. Not that best but better than some of the cheap ones I've seen.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
