i would but im not sure if car will handle it..

plus i need helmet, pads, oil cooler...

and hope the car lasts... needs a retune to 18psi.

You dont need to thrash the crap out of your car to have fun. I'll probably just run low boost and not rev my car past 7000rpm

So who's keen???? Anyone out there actually keen to come have a go at this???? Andrew will be bringing out his 400kw GTR and i'll be taking my car out to test out the new power. The costs are $100 if you have a CAMS licence and $125 if you dont. Well worth the money if you ask me, as its the most fun i've ever had in my car :P All you need is an approved helmet and long sleeved top and pants (non synthetic) and a car that works.

you know ill be there babe to see you and andrew fly around again you just need to beat 1.16 i think it was

were can i get a helmet from..

Just go to any motorbike shop if your happy with a bike style one, i use a dirt bike helmet cos they have a large opening and keep my face fairly cool.

I need to beat a 1.25.00 and Andrew needs to beat a 1.17.00, we both have new mods and should be able to improve on our old times :P

just watched an old clip of the winfield gtrs at the lala - Skaife qualified with a lazy 1:08:98!!!!!!! Holy sh%t balls batman!! Maybe all the ballast they ran made them faster......

Got new shoes for the GTR yesterday - can't wait to try them out!

maybe the 5 bar of boost helped a bit to Andrew

I know the sierras were running 40psi from the commentry back then, from what I've read the 90's GTRs were only running 1.5bar (22psi) to make 600 horsepower at the flywheel (but were capable of 2 bar no problem): http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/23307-nice-track-skyline-r32.html

I know the '92 GTR's were severely handicapped with weight & boost restrictions, but I read somewhere (and I can't remember where) that the '91 GTR's ran approx 70psi, lol.

That link you posted makes alot of reference to a private vehicle owned by a Mike fella.

You could be right though....I couldn't be stuffed doing a search at the moment.

Pretty sure once all the local car drivers whinged, the boost was restricted to 1.3 bar and 100+kgs of ballast added. Yep - they still kept winning. Before that I think they ran up to 2 bar, but usually 1.5.

a cubic f**kton of hp thanks to 70psi of boost being produced by an antiquated turbo strapped to the side of a 2 litre engine and the putting it all through a h pattern box, locked diff and 8 inch wide tyres while left foot braking to keep it on the boil when you come out of a corner.

yeah, think that might just qualify as a bit of a handful. :(

haha, brilliant description Dave........I was picturing the old Sierras doing just that, as I read your post.

Because of the very famous Godzilla clouding people's thoughts and memories, people actually forget that they were a serious animal as well.

im out. clutch needs to be done, and im worried about that synchro issue after repeated high speed changes, probably wont do my box any good. sigh. next time.

cheers. haha. but the gtr was an animal. the sierra was something else entirely.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
