dude try and do a search on this for the forum.

this has been covered not long ago......

well anyways since im here ill post the differences between Series 1 and 2 of R34 GT-R

*Later models have different paint in the engine bay

*later models have black interior instead of grey like the earlier ones.

*the headlight housing is darker than the earlier ones.

*the later model R34 GT-R has a metal sheeting over the ECU

*later models have different mirror adjusting knob than the earlier ones

*Color of shift pannel are differrent (satin)

*Color of front and side market lens, early ones are yellow and later ones are white.

*different pedals

*type of radiator is different between year models

*bigger rear rotor on the later ones

*different "nissan" badge on boot/trunk in the year models

*different available std color (stopped few colors on the older one and added some new colors for the later models)

*engine oil cap changed back to R33 clicking type (not all)

*Engine number changed from start of 0 to 7 and type of font used to stamp numbers have changed but this happened some where in year 2002 (I think when nur started manufacturing)

and then theres other differences in N1, V-Spec I + II, M-spec, V-spec NUR, M-spec NUR, Z-tune etc

but

what was posted is just the standards between non GT-Rs

Look through this section, it has been covered not long ago.

Aluminium pedals

Extra two sensors on the MFD

CF bonnet

Black Interior

Bigger brakes at the rear

Different Badge on the boot lid

Engine bays are colour coded

Looks better :(

That's not entirely correct :D

The V Spec and V Spec II have the extra 2 sensors (inlet and exhaust temp) that non V Specs dont have.

The "series" 1 cars, whether it's V Spec or not, do have colour coded engine bays for yellow and red cars. Although I have suspicion that silver are also coded as well.

You've outdone Jamie once and for all..

You've outdone Jamie once and for all..

nah hang on.....he hasnt yet.....

if he posts another reply with more then he has.....

the last posts all he ever said and went on about is "N1, N1 & N1"!

LOL

lol prepare to be dazzled haha

Grab handle on the driver's side was deleted in S2

Spare tyre was upgraded to a better one

Paint finish under the bonnet was improved - i.e. it was actually painted, not just a base coat

Jamie you only said the radiator was different, so I thought I should add the extra information about the top tanks

And the real kicker...

The plastic covers over the bootlid hinges were changed! Don't ask me how they changed though...

Mate, you are an ABSOLOUTE...................................................CHAMPION!

i would never of picked it

shiet......i guess theres SO MUCH changed between series 1 and 2...

so about that grab handle......

what......there isnt any in S2? what did they compensate for that? because ive never seen an R34 GTR with a grab handle on the drivers side..

and when you metnioned about the double din.....ive never seen a Factory double din......all have the single din and the small compartment under..???

that series 2 Brushed aluminium around the console is hella nice!

Edited by eeiko321
It's not really real aluminium though, but you already knew that hey. ;)

well i didnt think it would be....

but thats what its called anyways "brushed Aluminium"

pple use that scheme for all sorts of things ...the latest trend...fridges, furniture etc etc.

well at the end.....the series 2 console looks alot better than series 1.

I should mention the finish on the console went from what Nissan called silver to titanium...obviously not the real stuff ;)

I should clarify on the stereo, sorry I misread the Japanese. The double DIN stereo was offered as an option on the S2s. Mine has a single DIN with a dummy CD player lol, go the N1. Dodgy AM radio for me...

On the grab handle thing, I think the grip on the passenger side changed somehow, maybe a pull-out one to a solid one, if that makes sense. I haven't got a S1 to compare it to, and I can't be stuffed going out to check mine lol.

well i have yet to see an R34 with a factory double din......i dont think anyone ever bothered getting that upgrade..

although, factory sterios are rediculously expensive.... the Toyota Hiace Double DIN factory stereo was over 500$

well i guess we covered all the differences by now eh?

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
