I'm New, Fmic And The Tmu?

As title says I'm new to the skyline world. The forums are great, haven't spend this much time reading since...can't remember when.

Anyway, I'm about to become the owner of a nice R33 SII GTST. I'm looking at getting a fmic, looking around the forums the TMU boys seem to be

cracking down on chopping the body up for the intercooler piping. I know you can get en eng cert, but i'd rather not stuff around.

So what are my options? I see that justjap have a 'stealth' intercooler, where the pipes return to the same side. Tho there are some tight bends in it,

more lag?. But there is also a dual outlet core as well? I've done a few search's around the place and can't find out much about 'dual outlet' cores. What is

the performance difference etc? I think the dual outlet on justjap is 3" and the standard piping is 2.5"? so 3" to 2.5" silicon hose will do?

i'd go the stealth cooler if you wanted to keep the car legal but if you chuck on a pod as well it defeats the purpose of having a stealth cooler and get ready to be defected once pulled over.

the JJR stealth series intercooler is a wise choice...I don't beleive there is any tight bends (the only bend I can see is from the cooler itself (thus making it a turnflow) and shouldn't be any lag. but as jake said if you do get a pod filter, you just be defected as you can only have one intake mod BUT if you want to be sneaky about it get a cold airbox assembly like the they on Just Jap have for sale so then you have a pod but it's also sealed so all you're getting is cool air running into it

Go for the stealth intercooler setup and get it intalled professionaly and if you wanna upgrade the intake, just put a high flow panel filter. APexi, K&N filters, any.

yep stealth is the way to go !

oh wait think i remeber somthing about air bags ? if you car dont have them wont be to hard to pass it. but TMU wont care and defect you anyway.

i got a twin entry one. but too many people getting done for it, end of feb it should be off and up for sale and replaced for the stealth. so much stuffing around,

get it done right the first time !

Except that you dont want air going in that direction. Needs to be teleported to the intake plenum..
