Mate, I'm runnin in my R32 Gtst 14psi, dyno'd at 165.6rwkw/457Nm @ 6500rpm tuned on a 28deg day by Dr Drift and only managed a 14.452 at 98.7mph.

I have a full 3" turbo back, hi flow cat, intercooler, pod, bigger fuel pump & boost controller for the life of me couldn't break the 100mph mark no matter how many times I tried(did 15 runs)

My best re-action time was .440.

There's a big difference of what a 20yr old car can do compared to a fresh outa the factory car sprouting figures on paper is meant to do.

Mine before remapping was puttin out 116rwkw with all the mods I have listed and was running lean as up top before remap.

The only way you will know is to get it on the strip & see for yourself- if your up in Qld your welcome to come to our next Drag day & see how you go-we would love to see you there-Qld Events team out :D

perth but thanks for the friendly invite :P gunna try get a helmet off a mate and go to kwinana this coming wednesday. will post the results.

turbo back exhaust

Profec B 1bar (a little more boost than is good for the turbo just for the drags)

Bosch 044 in tank fuel pump

remapped ecu

9 puck clutch

Cold air partitioned air filter (metal pipe turbo intake)

Full suspension kit setup with pineapples, revalved Tien's and camber /castor setup for traction

nice, hmmm well im on my way to that :)

already got 3" metal intake(best induction noise ever :)), full zorst, brass button clutch. needa partition my intake though for cold air. gunna get injectors and pump soon with an ECU remap. Got pineapples set up for rear squat atm and i have ALL of the front and rear bushes, adjustable where available sitting in my room waiting for swaybars to arrive before i install them. tyres are 255's but shitty ones, i dont think ill put more than 13 psi through the turbs though. wait till i get a 25 turbo.

I been told 25 PSI in the tyres while I'm at drags. That about right ?

cbf drag radials. I'm either gunna get some adrenalins or potenzas soon though. Should be better than the cheap crap on there now

trial and error with the tyre pressure.

too low and you will have less contact patch on street tyres and potentially lower the grip levels.

start with 30psi hot pressure and drop a few psi at a time if you think this is a problem.

drop it down to 16ish psi

the rims wont spin inside the tyres or any of that rubbish

If you're running 40psi in your tyres with the 1/4mile runs, thats half your problem. Also with the launch, dont dump the clutch, hold the revs up and "feather" it out and jump on the throttle at the same time. You should get 2.0 or even 1.9 with a good launch

For anyone who is interested i got down to the drags the other day and this is the results, if you havnt read whole thread i was testing against an iPhone app.

also again, car is stock motor/turb o, just a pod, 3inc turbo back with stock cat and a FMIC.

first test run:

Actual data from motorplex:

ET: 14.73 @ 158.98kmph

60': 2.54

330': 6.46

660':9.68

1000':12.43

iPhone app data:

ET: 14.75 @ 157.9kmph

60': 2.36

330': 6.34

660':9.60

1000': 12.4

second test run:

Actual data from motorplex:

ET: 14.89 @ 159.32kmph

60': 2.71

330': 6.65

660': 9.83

1000':12.59

iPhone app data:

ET: 15.28 @ 152.9kmph

60': 2.72

330': 6.79

660': 10.06

1000': 12.91

my best run for the night was a 14.45 @99.33 mph, wasnt a good launch or change into 4th either, so i know it can go faster

I went to the drags in my 32 for the first time and ran a best time of 13.761.

Trap speed was 104 mph.

Running an RB20 dynoed at 197kw atw, on 255 adrenalins at the back.

Had real problems keeping traction to the ground, so I reckon my time can definately be improved on.

Nice, close to the magical 100mph.

You RB20 boys make me sad ;) stupid heavy ass 34s :P

Def will get a high 13 with a good launch.

Its interesting your MPH tho. I ran 99mph with a cat back and around 10ish psi of boost (extra spring on wastegate, so it didnt hold anything like an EBC) - and on the dyno it made just over 160rwkw.

So with my extra weight, 19s etc, hopefully I am maybe 170ish rwkw in fact, to be pulling the same mph. ahhhh who knows.

Either way looks like the Iphon app goes alright sometimes, and not so good others :)

I ran mine at the same event with pretty much the same mods but with a highflow turbo making 175rwkw untuned ran a 14.32 and a best of 100.90mph.

Now with the car off getting a few upgrades along with a Haltech installed and tuned I'm hoping to get close to the 110mph mark.

what do you guys think my 32 gtst will run with about 210 too 220rwkW?

could have up to 250 when done but that is the most conservative figure i have been quoted

upgrades are:

-rebuilt engine (metal head gasket, rings, ACL bearings, completely recoed head)

-GTR injectors (fresh cleaned and serviced)

-OS Giken Cam Gear on zorst side

-Gates Triple Strength T/belt

-FMIC

-Walbro 550hp fuel pump

-sard fuel reg

-full zorst, no cat (shhhhhhh)

-pod

-KKR430 turbo

-Microtech LT16S ECU tuned by Tony Rigoli Performance

phew lol

so i wanted high 12s...think thats possible on coilovers and second hand 235s?

also what power figures sound more on key?

gotta beat my mates 6litre HSV Maloo lol

All the guessing in the world won't make any difference in your life unless you actually do it for real. What is happening with you guys these days ? What's next, asking if you could sprint 100mtrs in 7sec if you were wearing so and so shoes and had your hair parted in the middle for less wind resistance ? Perhaps if I tell my phone I weigh 100kilos and can leg press 600lbs for 12 reps @ 8% body fat I could get that down to 3 seconds.

These guessing gadgets are useless. Get out there and as Nike would say, "just do it".

    • Can't you put the pistons to TDC and then do the valve seals? Or will the drop down too far to pull them back up?
    • One thing I can tell you is, do it properly the first time. If you encounter unexpected problems just let the car sit for a week or two if you have to get some other parts or figure stuff out.  I'd have said go and use as many OEM parts as possible but since you want to change the turbo later on a custom kit is probably the better choice. Since I have no experience with RB25 just compare parts diagrams and images before buying a line kit and it should be easy to see if it has everything you need. Amayama has very good parts diagrams and part number lists, that is what I used a bunch to figure out what I might need. And don't forget to plan ahead and possibly renew other stuff that's easy to get to while you're in there doing the turbo lines. Happy wrenching
    • Update 4:   Hi all, good news. Engine is running and all the gaskets and seals seem to be working as intended. No leaks so far, even the JB Weld seems to hold. I flushed out the old coolant a few times and put in fresh coolant, not Nissan stuff, I decided to try the Ravenol Protect FL22, they claim it works for a wide variety of JDM cars and the opinions on it by some people were pretty good. And it has the nice poison green color! And man am I glad I bought a coolant system tester earlier this year, vacuum filling works wonders on this engine. I can definitely recommend this to anyone still doing it the old school way. All you need is compressed air supply. Will have to do a small test drive as soon as I can, I removed the gauge cluster again as the tacho needle was still bouncing around a bit but it was much better than before already.  I also found some cracks on all 4 tires inner and outer sidewalls. Apparently these tires should 't be parked on for extended periods or be kept under 0 degrees during storage, which I did not know. Clearly the previous owner didn't look into those details either, he probably bought them just cause they are cool semi-slicks. I'm just wondering how tf I am supposed to reach 30-80 degree tire temperatures on the public road consistenly, these tires were never going to work for my use case. I'll probably order Continental SportContact7 ones as these are the best allround summer tire available right now and I don't think I'll need anything crazier for now. Do let me know if you have experience with various tires and which ones you recommend.
    • You have no idea how many goddamn boxes I received these past three months haha Most have been put to use by now though, luckily
    • Not going to pretend I didn't do a bit of junky work this time around, but mostly due to the fact that some things I am not willing to spend days fixing right now, like wiring. I try to do most things properly the first time around.
