thats good to hear the interest .. i'm going to go see this guy today ... surprising thing is more and more people have recommended this guy ... since i've been askin people about tint ... but yeah get prices later today ... if u could please post your prices then that would be good ... it would also be good to have a receipt too .. i'm more worried about quality and guarantee then price really .. but good to have cheap tint too :D

If you are worried bout the dark tint, do what I did when I got pulled over when I had my white one with dark tint. Have the windows down then they cant ask you to put them up, it worked for me.

why can't they ask u to put them up?? i guess they could .. but i was thinkin of this because i want dark tint for sun protection and thats illegal ... the other good thing about dark tint is so people lookin to steal stuff can't see inside your car ... they are the 2 main reasons why i would want darker tint .. 3rd is because it just looks good :D

OK i just went to SCORPION TINT just off main north rd.

The price is 295 for his best tint, his regular price is 365 but the normal rrp of the tint from the tint maker is 495.

The tint is called endurance, its a metal film and not a dye, colour type which is prone to fading which is what just about every other film is on the market including tint a cars top film, formulae 1. Someone correct me on that one if i'm wrong. So yeah basically this film will have a lifetime warranty on it on everything, fading, colour, clarity etc etc. and its a true lifetime warranty, regular lifetime warranty is 6.5 years which is set by the film industry or whatever it is, can't remember the exact name. so anyways there are different types u can get, legal, not legal u just gotta go there and chose. he also has lots of other tints which doesn't cost as much but i want the best cause this one reduces heat by 60-70%, i dont' have all the specs with me but this is what i want. he said that if we find anyone else doing the same tint for a better price then for us to tell him.

so yeah what are ur thoughts??

you really can't compare this tint to say something from tint a car .. its like comparing holdens to fords its just different so i guess i just like this one cause its better.

1 more thing is .. 295 seemed ok but i bet if we got 10 poeple he might do it for less maybe ... the problem is that he doesn't want to get burnt in that we say we got 10 15 .. whatever amound of people and then everyone backs out in the end so he ends up doing a really cheap tint for 2 people, he said its happened to him before so thats why he was didnt' want to give a price for 10 people ... he rather just gave us like 50 buck discount ... i couldn't persuade him to give a price for 10 people ... i also even said i would give him a deposite for everyone who was interested and that he could keep the deposite if those people backed out... but he said he didn't like that cause he didnt' like the idea of takin peoples money ... he was very honest and straight forward and didn't knock the competition... he would of spent at least half an hour with me just talkin and explaining stuff ... good customer service is hard to come by these days... :D

another thing which i asked the tinter guy, it is in fact illegal to tint the front 2 windows as hard as it is to beleive, the reason why so many people think its ok to tint the front is because the laws in SA are behind the other states which allow the fronts to be tinted to 35%, i'm not too sure about the tinting of the back windows though.

Sounds good, so thats for both front windows, rear window and the two smaller ones behind the front windows?

Did that guy mention anyhting about how much it cost to take old tint off, as I have shitty tint on the rear window and the two smaller windows that needs to be removed

How hard is the old stuff to get off?? Will a couple of hours of attacking it with a stanley knife blade and some solvent get it off?

yeah .. i edited first post .. 60 bucks to get it off i think .. unless u want to do it urself .. u can go visit him urself .. just mention me i think he will remember .. then u can go see some of his work ... my friend did her car there last saturday .. turned out pretty good... and she paid 365 .. so i guess 295 is pretty good.

Cool, for 65 bucks I'd rather get them to do it, I can see myself making a huge mess just to save $65!! Best to let the pro's do it

Put me down for sure, sounds really good

Good work getting this going!!

yeah 295 thats what u get .. but hey if u think this is too expensive he has others ... go to tint a car and the absolute best they will do for u is 250 and i doubt u will get that from them for their best tint which is btw not as good as this one ... but its up to u guys ... i'm going to try and get the price down further .. but i doubt i could squeeze much more out of the poor guy ... my best suggestion is to go to him and ask him what hes got ... he will take the time to talk to u and tell u stuff ... go to tint a car ... they won't explain shit i reckon ...

he will do passengers .. back sides and the back ... and u get to chose the tint darkness and maybe even the reflectiveness of the tint to i think. not 100% sure on that one.

    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
