Mattikin1
not all defects need roadworthys you can get defected and only have to get it cleared at vic roads it all depends on what the cop puts on the form i got defected but didnt need a roadworthy all i had to do was get it cleared at vicroads. it all depends what the cops say and they put on the defect form. Al
You definitely have a S1.5, which requires an airbag wheel. My mate removed his airbag globe from his dash when he had to get a roadworthy, as the light was always on, and failed inspection as the airbag light did not come on when the inspector turned the key. Mind you he still had the std airbag wheel fitted, so if you where to fit a non-airbag wheel it would probably pass as the inspector may be non-the-wiser. THR34T
either that or youll be lucky they will just look at roadworthy and mark it off. the burwood one normally seems to do that.. ill go with u Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255886-defected/page/4/#findComment-4418212 Share on other sites
180Roman
is that wire the only loose wire in the steering column, was it connected to anything before with the old steering wheel. the airbag light problem could've came up when you remove the old steering wheel if the previuos owner put a resistor in the Airbag plug but it got knocked or pulled out when you removed your old steering wheel. hope that makes sense Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255886-defected/page/4/#findComment-4418366 Share on other sites

W0rp3D
Just wondering, only just read me defect notice tonight, if im reading correctly you have 7 days to drive the car, after those 7 days you can only drive the car for another 21 days to have it tested or repaired AFTER the defects have been fixed, after that time the rego is suspended, is that right? I have attached a front and back copy of my defect, the bits im referring are the first instructional bit on the back which refers to section 4 on the front but section 7 says that i have up untill the 4th of march before the rego is suspended. THR34T
yeah that is correct.. but i think after that 7 days you are not allowed to drive it unless its only to vicroads, a cop told me i can only do that he didnt say anything about mechanics etc..
