Saw this R35 GTR at MSCA sprint at Sandown 18th Jan 09 - my car is the blue 1600 beside. Shows how cars have grown over the years - 40 years of Datusn/Nissan evolution from 900kg 4 door family car to 2 tonne monster.

The GTR was doing 1:23s with 180km/h limiter still in place. Despite hitting the limiter about 1/3 the way along the straights and lots of cars overtaking, it was still the fastest car on the day.

The GT40 in the front will almost certainly be a replica either a DRB, a Tornado or infact any one of atleast a dozen different knock offs that you can buy. The shame of it is I have yet to see one driven properly.

They are pretty to look at & apparently ok to drive. Not sure as despite a couple of my mates building them I can't fit into the damn things. Gurney bubble anyone? :P

Thats true, last time I was out at Sandown with MSCA, I was held up for a few corners by that GT before finally getting alongside it on the straight and passing it.

There will be another Black R35 GTR Premium edition doing some laps this Saturday at Sandown, together with a Porsche GT3 and 2 x Ferrari 360's as part of the Driver Dynamics Track Day with Kev....

I will be interest to know if it can get into the 1:23s with the 180 km limiter still on

what are you planning on doing with the fluids? Will you stick with Mobil 1 or go to something like Redline? And are you planning on changing any of drive-train fluids to that Willall stuff? they claim a lot less particular matter floating around than the OEM stuff...

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
