he guys im trying to reach in a diffrent direction with my r33 and was thinking about doin sucide doors . i was just wondering has anyone done this mod what was a rough price and if you have it done some pics would be great. im mainly worried about sagging being such a big door and what bracing would be needed for the job. im leaving about 3 grand for the job. am i dreaming for this price or some were near the mark thanks for the help. regards shaun

never seen it, but shouldnt be too bad.

you keeping the stock latch system? or a new bear claw mechanism?

what handle system you going to use?

as for the hinge, that will take the most work, custom hinge required to push teh door skin outside of the body as the is no recess for it to fold into.

definately do-able

well lambo doors were once unique, im not sure it will work, but i always associate suicide doors with early model hotrods and resto's where they were actually used from factory.

definately alot of work on the B pillar to allow for the hinge to slide back inside the body of the car, engineers cert will be a must.

i was gonna put suicide doors on a 34 but havnt yet, as for 33's wud definately b unique as there arent that many 4dr 33's around...gud luk with it man post a pic for sure def wanna see

^^^ search what suicide doors are before you embarrass yourself next time eh

how about you search what suicide doors are... suicide doors are reverse opening doors. whether its two or 4 doors.

on a four door car only the rear doors are made suicide doors like the likes of the mazda rx8 and a few of the space cab utes are now having suicide doors at the rear.

this only would look good with a pillarless sedan.

if you have a look back to the original post you will see that he states that it is a big door to be supported, this would indicate that it is a coupe as the doors are longer in the coupes.

have a look at alot of the hot rods which you primarily see suicide doors on majority of them are two door cars...

so there is no embarrassment here my friend.

to be different as stated in the first post.

and like i said it wouldnt look good on a four door either because of the b pillar, for a four door car to look good with rear suicide doors it needs to be completely billarless in the middle so that when you have the doors open there is nothing on the whole side of the car and allows the whole cabin to be opened up.

obviously this has caused abit of contraversey. yes i do have a 2 door coupe and im after suicide doors not lambo . ive been talking to a chop shop about the job he thinks it a very big job but anything is possable just depends how rich the bank account is. and yes the car is a must in the engeneer department other wise i may as well leave a large tub of vasolin in the glove box for the cops to ram me. thanks for the imput on it but so far not much has helped. if i find out any more info i will post it up regards shaun.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
