funky monkey
Ok long story behind this question so i'll get straight to the point. does anyone know if removing or cutting the radiator support bar will decrease general chassis rigidy ie. is it structual and forget any problems about legality its not an issue in this case. badhairdave
rigidity, and yes. Though there are enough examples around where people have removed it and added in other bracing to compensate. tube frame front ends and the like. s13 dent sport track car as an example Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/257351-rigidy/#findComment-4430656 Share on other sites

When you say rad support bar do you mean the whole rad support like the pic above or just the bar that runs along the top of the radiator, i know a friened of mine was pulling his engine out so much he cut the bit along the top of the rad so it would be easier to get the engine in and out, he just made it so he could bolt it back in. It is a structual point, hence why its spot welded in place. A strut brace will improve rigidity if you remove it, but some extra bracing might help. Like you can see in the pic Dave posted.
