Well i know we have a section for events and thats where most people actively place info and read about what is going on in Tassie Motor Sport but i thought id throw this out here to get some more active discussion.

So whos up for what?

are you keen to come out to a Club/Drift/hill climb and compete but arent to sure?

id personally like to broaden SAU's appearance at motor sport events so that members know that there will always be a fellow skyliner there.

personally to get it started i will be running the state drift series once again. i finished 4th last year so i hope to go one better.

by the sounds of it Sav Man and i will be running in the mighty GTR for the LCCT mountain circuit challenge. This even is by far the best way to experience all forms of motor sport and get a slight taste of what targa is like and the best thing about it is you can run any sort of street car and not damage them (much.. insert fence here) Some say its fairly expensive but once you weigh up the track and road time plus the bonus bits it sure is worth every cent.

ill be crewing again for targa. maybe for a Porsche thoe :) and if you are keen to travel all over tas and meet some excellent people there is always a place on most targa teams. most of them with expenses paid.

And my final goal for 09 will be to do one round of the tas super series.

chuck in a few hill climbs and motorkhanas and thats every weekend taken up. and if your not driving you'll be fixing. :ermm:

I'll be running in club days and hill climbs, hopfully i'll make it down to baskers this year. And of corse the MCC, we might try this year.

I'll be running in Targa again, we'll be looking for a crew.

Now I just have to get round to putting the car back together.

Now I just have to get round to putting the car back together.

story of a GTR owners life.

Another point to this exercise is to go to these things as groups to help each other out. as in i usualy trailer to events and take a car packed with spares.

All the LCCT club days, have a NWCC hill climb this weekend and looking forward to the NWCC sprints at the Smithton Kart Club in April. Hope to do a club day at Baskiville.

dam it i would have loved to do that one. im pissed i never grabbed one of thoes cams calenders.

i think SAU North should hit up a Barsky club day hard. destroy the track and go home.

Well im entered (as co-driver) for Targa again this year, was looking to do TRS but scotty is sookin about not doing the two northern rounds and I want to win trophy's (not come second).

Now that I have a bit of confidence and knowledge ill be lookin for a few gigs at Targa West, Buller, Classic Adelaide and Rally Burnie.

Unfortuately that means not much time for anything else so I reckon Ill sell my car and buy a decent daily.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
