As a few of you know, I was recently made a casualty of the mineral and resources downturn. Well, as Murphy would have it, the very next day I was told that my 14yo daughter Ashleigh has been offered a last minute place on a music tour of Singapore with her school band and choir in April, and I need some help to raise the $3,500 to send her. So, in a bid to publicly display the sheer awesomness of the Perth modified car community......

Help A Kid Out Charity Cruise

Date:

Saturday 28th of March

Official Meetpoint:

City West

Time:

7.30pm meet up to leave at 8pm SHARP

Will be handed out at the meetpoint for $10 donation (see below)

Full tank of petrol, CB radios if you have them, etc

Update - Due to the generosity of local businesses, I can now confirm there will be door prizes given out on the night, so make sure you keep your map! Details will soon be following, and don't forget to post this cruise on all your other forums!

Also, A bank account has now been established for all those wishing to donate to the cause. This has been done to allow total transparency, and anyone wishing to see where all donations are going, need only ask and they will be given statements etc.

Anyone wishing to make a donation,

PM me and I will pass on the account details.

I've got a wedding to go to aswell but it's a day/afternoon thing, might be a little late :)

Damn, we'll be in Malaysia until the 30th...........

But Appealing Signs & Graphics will donate $100 towards Ashleigh's trip.

Sure hope that you get a good turn-out.

Here's the best deal that I can come up with.........if anyone mentions this post and gets any printing, sign work, stickers done etc, we'll donate the profit of any sale to Dale's daughter.

Check out our website www.appealingsigns.com.au for all the things that we can do.

All purchases must be paid for in full before the trip, (doesn't include any orders from our existing customers and I'm gonna limit it to $3000 donation).

So now's the time to purchase all those odd stickers that you've been saving for!

Thanks for the bump Bubba :(

As I may have already mentioned to a few of you, I have (since the inception of this cruise) managed to find enough employment to cover the costs of Ashleighs Grand Adventure myself. A HUGE thankyou to all the people that offered their generosity and support, and I am still gonna go ahead with the cruise, just without charging for the map, and the idea of offering prizes will be put back for another day. Maybe another (more organised) charity cruise in the not too distant future perhaps? :)

The map is all planned and driven, and the little lady in question will be present (I may even manage to convince her to crack out the ole horn and blast out some James Brown or similar for youse :P ) Anyone that feels so compelled, can still make a donation, and as I said before, any money raised will be donated to the Jeuvenille Diabetes Foundation on behalf of SAUWA.

so this cruise is still on for tonight then? might get some mates to come along in their rex or falcodores if that's alright. how many ppl thinking of going so far?

can ya give us a rough indication of where the cruise will be headed to?

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
