R33 Hi Flow Turbo

Hi ppl my stock turbo on my r33 went so looking in2 gettin a hi-flow ..

were is a good place to get them ? how much should i be paying for turbo + to fit .. and would it giv me

more power ....

any info on the turbo would be great ,,,

Hiflows you're looking at places like MTQ or GCG to make them.

Yes you will make more power, no they aren't cheap (~2kish).

I have a huge hiflow neo on my stag and while it makes good power, it's laggy as hell heh

I bought the stag with the highflow, personally I wouldn't do one myself.

mmm atm i have full zorst, bosch fuel pump, pod , cooler ,clutch , .. think thats bout it ..

i wasnt really looking for heaps of power just a little more .. i didnt want to change to many things i just wanted a bolt on turbo coz my1 is fkd ... but maybe its not the best idea ?????

i think sum guy is selling 1 for $380 + to fit ...

im not to crazy bout getting heaps of power but i was hoping to find out if it will be better ... and i also hav a safc (would it help and wats a good place to go and get that put in my car and tuned )

I think your best bet would be to replace with a stock one in good nick. I just sold mine for $320 with lines and it was in good condition so there easy to find for a good price.

If you replaced with a high flow and tuned with the safc and the current mods you probably wouldnt have alot over the stock maybe 20rwkw extra. Is that worth $2300 + install.

Just getting a highflow without other supporting mods is like doing less then half the job. You really need larger injectors,boost controller, z32 afm and a complete replacement ecu ontop of what you have already.

Is that $380 for a stock turbo or high flow, cause thats way to cheap for a high flow?

You probably wouldnt get any more power with a stock turbo replacement and tune on the safc but the response and delivery would be so much better.

hiflow for $380?! I doubt it but if it IS actually a hiflow.. and not rooted.. buy it!

Your cheapest option to get you back on the road is another stock turbo.

If you want a bit more power but not heaps then look at a small aftermarket turbo like a 2530 or something.

SAFC will be OK for minor mods but as soon as you start putting bigger turbos on that push a lot more air than stock, you really need a proper EMS.

mmmm still not sure wat to do but now i no wat im looking at ...

well the guy sed it is a ball bearing hi flow for $380 and hes geting it next month ...

i think the place is called KYP or su,thing like that .?????? duz it sound abit sus...wat do u guys thing to good to be tru ?????

id like a lil more power but i dont wonna start sumhing and not finish it ... thanks again guys

Kyp are pretty reliable I think (although he did sell me what was supposed to be an R32 GTSt tailshaft.. I then used that as a template for my custom tailshaft which turned out to be wrong and cost me a few hundred dollars more..)

hay bubba would you no wat else i would hav to do to my car if i was to buy a 2530 turbo like you sed ..

would i need much more mods and dus this turbo bolt on ??how much would i be looking at ??cheers mate

Probably a custom dump pipe, *maybe* a new intake pipe (you may have to fiddle with the piping to get it to meet your current piping).

Turbo will bolt onto the stock manifold but to make use of all the extra air some bigger injectors and some aftermarket management will be needed (and bigger airflow meter depending on what sort of ecu you go for).

Really, you'll be needing bigger injectors and some decent management with a hiflow turbo anyway depending on how much you lean on it..

My Stag has a HUGE hiflow.. it's making ~240awkw @ 12psi but because it's so big it's laggy as hell.. injectors maxed at 15psi so I'm going to get some bigger ones as if I have to live with this laggy turbo it might aswell make all the power it can.. possibly good for 280awkw @ 18psi :D

My point is, anything bigger than standard is going to flow more air, more air means more fuel and better ways to measure the air. You seem to have the bulk of the supporting mods done except for the ECU and injectors.

Also, if you have the cash then a HKS *kit* will have everything required to bolt on but you'll still need injectors and ECU ;)

Oh and see if KYP are willing to get that "hiflow" checked out by a turbo specialist.. take it down to MTQ and they'll be able to tell you if it's hiflowed or not.. if it is then $380 is a fkn good price!

Hi flow your own stock turbo. Use pliers to steepen up the angle of the blades. The only difference between the stock turbo on your car and a RB26 is this. It also helps your suspension.

This rates up there with stupidest posts of all time.

You can also retune the ecu by attaching it to an arc welder for a few seconds, for extra power :(
