how old is your pod? size?

when i bought a new one, i didnt realise the surface size was so important,

it literally suffocated the engine as the turbo spooled up.

i suggest buying another pod first, could be something as minor/stupid as that.

shut up damo :(

yeah, make sure you ckeck the bottom of the elbow pipes in particular, the tend to rub on the body of the car

and split over time, best way is to actually take them off and inspect. you may not see the split otherwise

I had a similar problem with my 33, turned out the computer got shorted and was running -40deg timing. Chuck a timing light on it. Also if you're not sure of their condition or type, change your plugs to Iridiums and gap them to 0.8mm

R32's when stock do feel fairly crap, mine used to feel like an N/A until I got some boost in to it.

They need exhaust and a little boost ~12psi then they start to come alive.

Taping coils won't do anything unless its popping/missing. If you must throw in a set of cheap copper BCPR6E plugs and gap them to 0.8mm. ~$24 for a set and they last a good 30,000km's on a near stocker with a little boost.

Lazy fuel pump can make a car feel really tired.

Best bet is to grab a base dyno run.

Throw it on the dyno at one of the up and coming dyno days. You'll soon know if something is off with it. :)

If you do the timing light check that will only be noticeable if you bring the car off idle. When on idle the car runs off its statically set timing via the CAS.

+1 for putting in at PGSA dyno day

Put it in the coming dyno day at Graham West Workshops

and ask Brett to give you advice on how the car is running etc

He will give you a lot of feedback and also will tell you what other simple things you can do to get the most out of your 32 mate

-1 for putting it on at PGASA, the last thing they wanna do down there is diagnose your problem when they are whipping through 50 cars on the day..

Take it down to Aussie Dyno on corner of port rd and south rd, or boostworx (youll have to book in) boothby st panorama.

Damo if you look at the entry form

they have the option of either entering in as competing

or entering in to get tuning details

i ticked the tuning box. good opportunity to get the word on my car from people in the know.

Yep i circled both on that one

To enter and see what i can beat and also to get some good feedback on how the 33 is going etc etc

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
