Alright guys, I didn't start this thread to talk about politics, or to whinge about how much money other people are making. Lets keep it on topic eh?

Judging by the responses so far, I would say that an ECU is the best bet.

O/T maybe some rears for my 34 (1934 not r34)

i missed the part where i said the global recession was labors fault?

you might want to find out how to spell a party's name before voting for them

Where is the part where I say you said the global recession is labours fault.

Nice work there sparky (JonnoHoward)..lol

and its good to see kevin07 sticking with labour tradition and wasting all the money from budget surplus's under liberal. good stuff kev, keep up the good work

What my post says in a sarcastic way is: do you think he has a say in the matter? Do the rest of the planet also have it wrong or are they all following Kev07's misguided Labour lead.

He's blowing all the Liberal parties money...doofus

I speak and write in English, not American English.

I spell colour with a U the same way I spell labour with a U, you can follow the Americanisation of all things if you wish.

Here's a clue

During the early years of the ALP, the Party was referred to by various titles differing from colony to colony. It was at the 1908 Interstate (federal) Conference that the name 'Australian Labour Party' was adopted. In its shortened form the Party was frequently referred to as both 'Labor' and 'Labour', however the former spelling was adopted from 1912 onwards, due to the influence of the American labor movement

I repeat I do not speak American what ever that may be and never will.

Fo shizzle I won't.. :)

nice work idiot... you really are quite simply aren't you...

owned.

now back on topic, to the OP, i still say REMAP, not FC.

I too will be spending this money on the car. Was going to spend on interior, but pretty much scrapping that idea.

I have most the suspension sorted, adj sway bars, shocks, springs, camber kits.

Power stuff...

-full 3" exhaust

-high flow turbo

-fuel pump

-injectors

-blitz spec r ebc

-remap

-rev210 intake mod

-FMIC

-splitfires (not really power)

i think that's about it. Got good tyres, 18" forged rims (GTR), good brake pads, brake stopper thingy...

i'm going to tip in $100, so i can spend $1k. don't know where to go now though? Any thoughts?

I'm really quite simply what? Imbecile.

As I was explaining to your fellow simpleton.

I do not use "American" English, It's a bastardisation of OUR language.

Did you miss that part of the post or was it beyond your comprehension?

You really are clever aren't you.

Thanks for your input Gonad, appreciated.

Boned!

I'm giving my handout back...

REGO! :P

I think I'll bank the change in protest... or to just continue the trend with what a large number of recipients will do... minimally stimulating the economy.

But in answer to Dreamr33's question, if i were you I'd spend it on suspension mods. Like someone mentioned earlier sways, and a front and rear strut brace, or some second hand shocks in good condition.

well, there you go... a piece of history from 1912, i was not aware of this. But where is this influence now?

i apologise and withdraw my comments (if i could edit)

to the OP, how many k's has your 33 done? $900 prob won't cover it, but will go quite close to doing a 100,000km service

Not 100% sure, Might give Jim Berry a call and see what he can do for me.

I have heard he can do a pretty good set up for about $900. Even if it's a bit more it doesn't worry me.

I just don't want something that is going to be heavy and a dog in traffic.

Looks like I'll be putting the money towards a new set of tyres

yup $500 of ours went on marshal mactra tx's

making a rear swaybar atm, another 25$ for some solid steel rod, and wednesday is dyno-day.

200 change out of that ^ to put towards cosmetic touchups, maybe even panda-style :)

yes, but you still run into the problem of tuning. Yeah, you can just run a new turbo with a boost controller but you don't really see the value out of any of these extra mods unless you get it tuned.

I still say ECU Remap @ Status Tuning, this way whatever mods you do in the future, you can get the most potential out of them.

    • Need to see other side of PCB in that area...ie; I don't see any thru-hole mounting, just soldered vias (smd zeners in SOT23 have 3 legs but only 2 are used, as reflected by PCB tracks)
    • 4 to 5 is fine. It will be slow, but that's better than blowing turbos. I don't have a PS pump idle up solenoid on my car, because... I think when we put the Neo in we retained my R32 lines. But.... From inspecton of the R34 vacuum hose diagram, you can see that the solenoid needs to be connected to the turbo inlet as source of clean air) and the plenum (as source of vacuum - which is the place for the air to flow to to cause the idle to increase). So 3 to 1 is VERY WRONG. 3 should go to either the turbo inlet, or the plenum. Follow the other hose from the PS solenoid and if it goes to the plenum, then your 3 goes to 2 2 would also serve as a bleed port for a boost solenoid.
    • Pull them out and pull more apart. You can't do shit with them still bolted to the floor of the car.
    • Yes it is. ZD1 is on the other side of the board. Where ZD1 is marked is clearly opposite a 2 pin device. Our 3 pin device here is not a ZD.
    • Alright, a little update on this... I called Fulcrum, who used to be the distributor in Australia. No Bueno, they don't service them anymore.  Called shock works, who don't service them but offered to dyno the shocks for performance, and suggested DNA in Sydney might service them.  Called DNA, who also do not service them and basically said they try to steer customers away from tein for this exact reason these days- there is just no support for them anymore apparently.  Both SW and DNA said they are a not necessarily a bad product, but they just don't service the brand or know anyone who does service the brand anymore.  So... I could keep calling around but at this point I think I'll probably just spring for the shockworks product, unless anyone here knows anything.  Cheers 🍻
