Yeh, If it says 98 over here in WA or over there in Qld, its the same. The fuel from BP or Vortex 98 or whatever from shell comes from the same company. Shell in Singapore IIRC . Just gets sold at different outlets.

I think you are missing something regarding the production sharing agreement between Australian refineries, mate. The bulk of fuel sold in WA is produced at the BP refinery at Kwinana - no matter what the badge on it. There may be some stuff bought off the spot market, and so produced in Singapore, but not that much. Unless Kwinana shut down when I wasn't looking!

And, yes, 98 octane is 98 octane. How the particular fuel makes 98 octane may differ, but the outcome is the same.

And there are many threads on which fuel is best and so on, which explain some things about the way the refineries share production.
