For those people in QLD here is the ruling from QLD Transport, if you dont want to read all that carp basically it states that underbody lighting IS LEGAL BUT CAN NOT BE THE FOLLOWING COLOURS: Red, Blue, Yellow or White, as they are reserved for emergency vehiles, oh and the lights cant flash, BUT I see they do add in on the end, "Other colours are acceptable as long as they do not flash or dazzle another driver." So a bad cop cant still hit you up if they really wanted to, but then HTF do you prove that the lights were "dazzeling" ?? Anyway I think MELV's look shit hot so probably going to go some myself once I got the cash :D

Underbody lighting is permitted, provided the lights are fitted in

accordance with the conditions listed in this information sheet

AIS INFORMATION SHEET No. 21

Alternative lights

Additional lights fitted to motor vehicles and, in particular, alternative

lighting on dressed up vehicles with underbody lighting, such as neon

lights and ultra violet lights, are acceptable, subject to certain

conditions.

(TO(RUM-VSS)) allows lights not mentioned in the standards to be fitted in

addition to the required lights, whereas the former Traffic Regulation 1962

required specific approval, which was not often granted. Lights that flash

or are white, red, yellow or blue are mentioned in the standards. However,

pink lights, for example are not mentioned and could, theoretically, be

fitted.

The use of blue lights are reserved for police vehicles in Queensland but

ambulances and fire engines in other states may use blue lights.

As such, additional underbody lighting such as neon lights and ultra violet

lights are acceptable provided the light omitted is not blue, yellow, red

or white. Of the last two, red lights must not be seen from the front and

white must not be seen from the rear. Other colours are acceptable as long

as they do not flash or dazzle another driver.

Other additional lighting requirements are covered by the regulations and

which is summarised in the brochure "All About Modifications to Motor

Vehicles". This brochure may be sighted on the Queensland Transport website

at www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/driver.nsf/index/vehiclemods

Additional mandatory lights, e.g. an extra pair of direction indicator

lights, are also permitted. The Australian Design Rules set mandatory

position, width and height limits for a primary set of lights fitted to a

vehicle. In the case of light and heavy omnibuses (MD and ME categories),

all commercial vehicles (N category) and medium and heavy trailers (TD and

TC categories), additional direction indicator, hazard warning, stop,

parking and rear position lights may be fitted to satisfy specific

operational requirements.

These operational requirements could include the need to better project

manoeuvring intentions in congested traffic such as for buses frequently

stopping to pick up and set down passengers, the need to have additional

lights to retain signalling capability in case of primary light breakages,

and where operating environment results in low mounted lights becoming

covered in dirt or dust.

The maximum height limits for particular lights, which includes stop

lights, fitted to the above categories of vehicles do not apply when

provided as additional lights.

Right,

So what other colors are left then? Pink, Green and purple !

We're all breaking the law just starting our cars everyday in some bs way so i dont think adding blue etc neons really matters

not like ill be using them while driving anyway

Im 99% sure 'According to law' that you are allowed to have whatever color neons you want on, aslong as the car is stationary, the engine is off, and you in a carpark.

That doesnt mean that 'According to the police officer' that its legal tho :slap:

      Hi guys, I’m new to the GTR scene. Picked up an R33 GTR earlier this year that needs a lot of love. I’ve been going through the hot side, changing all the gaskets and while it was all off I managed to score a set of -9s. It still had the stock ceramics so I was pretty happy to get the 2860s.  I live in a small country in the pacific with 0 performance car scene. No dyno’s no performance parts, let alone stock parts for a skyline. I order everything from Australia and do it myself. This means I’ll be running the stock ECU. Maybe down the track I’ll get an aftermarket set up and do a remote tune.  Will the car run -9s on stock tune safely?  I have a very heavy foot so I really hope so 😂   thanks guys

      I'm not sure if it will bolt up, but.... I'm reasonably sure that the ID of the runners is somewhat smaller on the NAs. So it probably wouldn't be a good match at the flange where the top and bottom meet. So that would be a reason to not do it. And the skinny runners would be the bit you're keeping, which would be a reason to no do it. You'd want the big runners if you were doing any work to swap stuff. Why not just use what you've got, like nearly everyone else who has +T'd an NA? You don't need or want the TCS throttle or other stuff that is specifically DET inlet/crossover.

      Makes sense. For actuators, if the pressure itself isn't adjustable, that would mean I'd need to think about 2 different actuators with 2 different pressures on paper in order for them to work at the same time if the turbos behave differently. So measure the difference in psi needed to move both, and then get an actuator to match that difference. Assuming I cant get rid of it by adjusting the arms.  You're exactly right, never happens in gear 1 or 2. I can occasionally get it in gear 3 if going uphill but its very small. Only ever in 4 and 5. Seems kind of backwards that one of the points of VCAM is faster spool but if it introduces shuffle then it actually slows spool down.
