the amount of days they give you to fix the car is entirely up to the cops discretion - my mate got given 24 hrs to remove his PFC, Pod filter and AVCR, which we all thought was a bit tight.

And don't bother fighting it in court - its your word against the cops word, your mates words won't count for anything as they will be viewed as biased towards you. My lawyer said that 99.95% of cases against Vic Police go their way unless there's undisputable evidence. If magistrates started ruling against the cops, the cops would just stop doing their job and all hell would break loose.

So yeah, sad to say but as aforementioned - just get the RWC, pay the fine and move on mate, best way to go about it

I think the sheer amount of times i get pulled over kinda says thats not the case :)

Sept-Dec last year, i was pulled over minimum once a week.

Its beek ok lately as ive been getting the train

that's cos you look like a bogan from packy that's about to rip hektic skids. nothin to do with the car

lol - im coming home from work you boob.

hardly kebab spec westie

fine, its cos you look like a bogan from packy wearing a suit, that's about to rip hektic skids.

LoLZ tets! wtf! that is gold man. jesus...why is it that young people with imports/turbos etc are always seen as people that wanna go fast and race on the streets? why can't we just be car enthusiasts that like to look after our cars alot more then most people?

friend of mine just cleared his defect for a crack in his front bar, too low and 1 tyre to be replaced.

he copped the $186 for driving an unsafe vehicle and also lost 3 demerit points.

it's really up to the cop at the end of the day.

You dont lose demerit points for a unroadworthy fine, if he lost 3 points it was for something else and quite possibly the reason they went so hard on him.

if ur stock height with stock rims .. take his name and badge number.. they legally have to if requested.... then head straight to the nearest cop shop and file a complaint and have the cops at the shop go over your car. the time your defected is noted so head down and show them that theres no way you could have raised your car and changed to stock rims within the time you got defected and arrived at the cop shop...

Just a little update on the situation, Ive rang up another cop station today to try to get some information on my defect. And unexpectely thinking that maybe all cops are not just dicks, this one was a f*king bitch. I said to her nicely her i dont believe i was treated fairly and i did not get a height measure and i ask her nicely can you help me explain my situation. She said what does that have to do with her police station, why are you ringing us for? I said i wanted another police opinion and proof. She goes ring up the person you have spoken to and i explained that the cop wouldnt measure it infront of me on the night and that he was obviously targeting me for no good reason. At the end of the day these guys are just freaken bastards, and doesnt seem to me that any police would help. Also i asked her to explain to me this 7 days that i have to fix the car knowing its a long weekend making my days shorten to only 4. I asked her if this can be extended she also said WHY ASK ME FOR? Then i also asked why was i major defected for out of the 3 things she said HOW WOULD I KNOW ASK THE GUY WHO DEFECTED YOU.

Great job to the police department that knows shit all, ive always thought they were there to SERVE and PROTECT, but i argee with the earlier post serve and protect my f*king ass.

This has made me so angry, i have given up on these people, i think maybe the best way is to pay this fine or watever go get a new seat belt and do another RWC get a real freaken hieght measurement, go to vicroads. But i will still write up a letter to them for my complaint, but as if they are even gonna read it anyways. All up im expecting to pay $700 - 800. There goes my K.Rudd money before i even recieved it.

Sometimes it has to do with your attitude as to the response you get.

But she is right - at the end of the day another officer cannot comment.

You must contact the officer who issued the notice and take it up with them/thier station (and relative senior)

#1, the chick has a very valid point, she knows absolutely nothing about your case and you are asking specific details, then she tells you that you have to ring the officer you continue to ask her questions that she has already told you that she cant answer, at this stage i would be getting really pissed off with you if i was her.

#2, this is going to cost you $700-$800??? what is is wrong with it, if its a legal height then dont worry about, maybe spend $10 and go to bunnings and find a wheel the is 100mm and a broom handle to make sure (thats all vic roads do when you take it in), will take you no tiime or $ to tighten the speakers (which have been proven to be lethal projectiles in an accident so they should be tight any way) and if you not a smoker $3 (im guessing since im not a smoker) for a lighter and lightly singe the edge of the belt (my rwc guy told me to do that  ) but make sure you clean all the ash off just in cash they check for that.

So now add all that up, plus the fine and cost of an rwc and your up for maybe $300 and a pain in the arse.

I have been pulled over many times and have tried every way to deal with them, arguing and questioning there motives is not a good way, although i do like to do it, on occasion i have also questioned there sexual preference, not helpfull but does relieve part of the frustration, just know, if your going to do it the same was i do expect to walk away poorer and with more work to do but a little more satsfied.

Also if your car is legal as you say... then you dont have to do anything other than get a RWC.

Being a RWC is ... wait for it... $75 or less.

I dont know where you get $700 from unless there is indeed stuff you need to get fixed ey???

cops love defecting people

if u got time have a listen to this

gotta turn up sound to hear everything.

i just shutup and let her talk LOL

Thats class mate lol. I think she liked the sound of her own voice!!!

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
