hi all, just wondering which car would be better......

in terms of speed, handling, fuel consumption etc.

ive been thinking of buying a EVO 6 and ive found one on the net for $23,000 but are they superior to a stock R33?

if it aint then i will stick with my skyline but lately i want a car with more room and 4 doors.

your thoughts?

I have always found that stock for stock, Evos are always better by alot, fuel consumption im not that concerned about so I dont know....

although, if u spent that money on ur skyline, it would be way better then any stock evo.

personally, I think the 33 skyline looks alot better then an evo 6....

The Evo would smash it, even before you hit the first corner. Sorry, but it's true.

Yeah dude....

why do you even BOTHER comparing the 2......

R33 GTS-t is not even in the same class of car.....

a better comparison would be R33 GT-R

your comparison is like saying a Ford Falcon FG vs Holden Clubsport GTS VE...

a low end ford vs a high end holden....

don't forget, the EVO 6 has always revolutionised the motor world through its years.... the R33 GTS25t has not had any where near that kind of reputation.

Or better yet an EVO 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition (TME).

Best of the Best out of all EVO's... BUT... Even better, a EVO VIII FQ400.

Speed = They can be crazy around the track with the right tuning (But thats with every car) Stock for Stock, EVO wins.

Handling = 4WD + Snow/Tarmac/Gravel Settings vs RWD + HICAS and Active LSD.

Fuel Consumption = 2lt Inline 4, 16 Valves, DOHC, Turbo vs 2.5lt Inline 6, 24 Valves, DOHC, Turbo.

Already it has less 2 cylinders and over all smaller engine but still packs a mighty punch! To give a thrill of a ride.

im a former evo owner and a GTR owner..

stock vs stock

the evo will munch the GTST and some more..

handling wise the evo is up there with some of the worlds best handling cars

i ran 1min 11's at wakefield with my nearly stock evo 8 and that was my first time out as well on the track

straight line the evo will much it hard again

brakes are even better and bigger than the brembos found on the R34 gtr

fuel consumtion is significantly better than the gtst

on a 55L tank i usually did around 450 or less with a mix of highway and city driving

the evo is just an awsome all round package sorry to say but the GTST will never come close in anything that u compare the two against

a GTR wil be a closer match

:)

LOL!

You really hate R33 GTS-T's and Automatic cars, don't you...

yeah, not a big fan of the GTS-T or GT-T or even GST.. lol

automatic?........nothing wrong with automatic dude. The world is turning towards automatic Sports shifter...

Ah whops!

I think it was someone else with a R34 GTR who did not like Auto cars...

I take that back! :D

nah it probably was the thread you wrote.

regarding R34 GT-T auto

some people on here think if a car is auto thats a sports car...its wrong.

which is a load of shit.

why else would they make R35 GT-R only available in sports shift auto

all good champ

Hehe!!

All good man!

You'll realise why when you advertise it.

and it's still advertised 7 months later.

yeah i know what you mean, but i already have the money saved up for the EVO i just have to get rid of the skyline cause i have no need for 2 turbo charged cars.

when it does eventually get sold.....if it does the extra cash will do for something,i just don't know what.

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
