are these compatible with or do you have a similar item that achieves the same result with the Xanavi set-up in R34s - providing another more direct option to feed in av in that set-up in lieu of using the connectors in the boot?

Digging up an old topic but...

I'm looking at using the AV input because I don't want to remove the factory features.

Being limited to RCA Composite video is making it hard to find suitable equipment.

There are a couple options using S-Video and adaptor leads.

I'm trying to avoid using something like a VGA converter box.

Are there any options for patching a VGA (or similar) signal straight into the factory LCD screen?

in short - no. you can patch a box into it but the result will be the same. NOW if you can get colors and CSYNC out of what ever you are doing then yes it will work. it will be a custom solution to do so.

Would this allow me to view a Navigation App on the OEM screen aswell as allow me to view videos and album information. ie:- replicate whats showing on the iPhone screen onto the OEM Screen ? Is there much lag if any ?

Is this a plug & play type of job that I maybe to pull off or should I obtain services from you or Rob B ?

Sorry one more, Do you provide the dock or must I source 1 ? If so are there remotes available or must we control the iPhone/OEM Screen through the iPhone ?

Dammit another one, Is it possible to view a Nav App and listen to music at the same time, either through the iPhone or through the Head Unit ?

If you might remember my cd stacker died and I was 1st thinking about the Pioneer Avic 900 ( Great Unit ) , but at the end of the day I will only be using the Nav and all of my music will be coming off the iPhone , so this seems like a great idea and I won't have to wait aslong to get it, What do you think ?

plugs straigt into the OEM box. no dicking around.

I have purchased "cable 2", what does "cable 1" do?

And on the side, do you know if the video signal from the TV unit to the video screen is composite, component or propriety?

  • 2 weeks later...

Does this work with the TV Tuner that is installed in the 370GT, 2007 Model?..

Again if it does assuming this would mean that the picture would display on the screen when it is in TV mode. Leaving the AUX still free. And you just pull the output cable from the TV unit and replace it with this lead?

Also by Colors plus CSYNC you mean, Similar to SCART output, yes???

If so what sort of quality would this give you, what resolution is the screen, as my model is a digital receiver is there a different lead that can be done to get HD component input??...

Thanks Chris..

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
