he should in all seriousness be in jail, its people like him that cost lives on our roads. he is an innatentive driver who creeps and sometimes excessively speeds over the set road limit.

how the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck does he still have a licence! rann gov cover up

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha,what a dick.branding us hoons,hes had more offences than alot of us put together.what a smelly,smelly dick

+1 LMAOnade on the house.

What a tool-face-bitch-wad

It would be alright if he had that kind of record and that position (hear me out) and made life EASIER for the rest of us, but if he's preachin then someone please take to him with a rolling pin. a dirty one.

how can you only lose license 1 time after being caught speeding 27 times and running red light 3 times? I bet he lost it more than 1 time.. i seriously cant think of single person with driving record that bad.

Easy, back in the day you could have 30 traffic convictions in a row and not lose 1 demerit point (or your license), yet demereit points have been around for as long as I've been driving........and that's a very long time.

I have a different take on this, and don't get me wrong, I want this guy out too but only because he's against us having a drag strip, not because of his record.

I'd like to know how long ago these offenses were committed cause I believe he outted himself with this info.

If they were very recent offences, then throw the book at him and show him the exit door.

If on the other hand these offenses were committed a long time ago and he has shown reform since then, then everybody (including us) has to be given a chance to turn from their ways.

There's alot of shit that I used to do to people years ago that I regret today......hence why I strongly defend the underdog these days and why I might come down very hard on peeps ganging up on anyone here.

If Koutsantonis committed this stuff along time ago and has had a clean record since, he may actually be in the best position as a Road Safety Minister.......but not if there are recent blemishes..........and having said that, we need a drag strip and this dude is against it.

what a two faced liar

I havent had a traffic infringment in a decade now, and here is a preaching-polly sitting on his high horse but yet is as guilty as sin.

show him the door IMHO.

since he was in his 20's up to less than a year ago, when he ran a red light
17 of the offences are from 2002 onwards Pete
with 2 of them happening last year, and he has $900 worth of fines outstanding

OK, next question....how long has he been in charge of his current portfolio?

OK, next question....how long has he been in charge of his current portfolio?

Since March this year - no offences committed since. however it does raise serious questions about how mike rann overlooked his history - unless of course it wasnt requested or not voluntarily provided... still... what an idiot.. i still think that crushing him is the best option

-D

well apparently mike Rann knew nothing of his shady past so you have to question their investigative abilities!

Pollies usually out their shady pasts for one of two reasons:

1). They've had a revelation of their wrong doings and are ready to pay penance

or

2). Someone was hot on his trail and about to out him to the media so he thought he'd get in 1st and do what the Yanks did with the Russian's......beat them to the moon

there's something fishy about that poll. i voted 20 minutes ago and there was only 238 vote for him to get a second chance 32% of the total vote now there's over 1000 votes for him to keep his job and it's in the 60's% percentage wise.

yeah its coded wrong so if you hit top one then click vote they made the 2nd question run over the vote now and you actually swap your vote and because it doesn't refresh the page you then click vote now again and now you just voted for him to keep his job very cunning

Its all a load of *im a h4x0R trying to look kool by swearing*in sh!t. If you have a criminal record u cant get into the forces. SO why does he get away with it if he is goin to be the traffic b!tch???

The government is corrupt

*They get away with all the sh!t

*If something on their side happens... it gets pushed away

*All blame is on the public.... Never the government

PLUS old drivers cant drive for shit... Sooooo many of them are driving all over the road as if they were on the piss, merging with out looking, 40km/h under the limit or even brake last minute infront or behind resulting in an accident.

Whoa there soldier

For everyones information, traffic offences are not criminal unless they involved death (in which case they would be charged with an actual criminal offence)

Road traffic offences such as red lights and speeding etc do not get classified as 'Criminal'. They are civil offences, which mean traditionally that there is no jail time associated with the maximum penalty - this has changed over time but the classification has remained the same. When you get a police report or criminal record check, they only check stuff like Murder, Rape, Assault etc - nothing to do with driving ever comes into it. So if you've been >convicted< of DUI then you're not technically a criminal. I'm not sure how the law classifies high range speeding fines or drug driving, but I suspect they would come under the general automotive law - rule of thumb is you're not up for criminal offences unless you hit a person.

    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
